Kobe Bryant right now. Perhaps after James wins a few rings he could eventually become the better player.

But to be honest for a second kobe is the best player in the game still.
He can do everything lebron can and more, the difference is that james is what 20 and kobe is 27, thats y his skill is so amazing. But kobe has the clutch factor , still head and shoulder above all else in that category, the discussion starts and ends with him in the nba for the guy u want" with the last shot, game on the line".

Lebron's phyicall attributes are a great assest to him, with those he couldnt be the player he is now, i mean strength/ body for his age. The reason i say that is because he doesnt have the shooting that kobe has, and im not talkin about FG% an overatted category , when your talking about Jumpshot and touch.

Agreed.
Lebron isnt close to kobe at all as far as skills go.
Hes beating people right now as an athletic-size match up problem.

That doesnt really matter. That slike penalizing Mj for being very athletic. Makes no sense. Shaq was beating people based on size, but in his prime I would definitely take him over the more skilled Garnett. Results are what matters. Doesnt matter how you get them.

Let Lebron prove it on the court. He's an amazing talent and he's going to be a great player, but at this point in time, Kobe is simply a better, more skillfull player.

Kobe is the better player right now because his game is more well rounded. Kobe also has the experience factor and he has the accomplishments. Right now nobody does it better than KB8. But LeBron already puts up Kobe like numbers while his game is still developing. To me that is very impressive. He is only 20 and is a monster. The gap is not as big as some have suggested in this thread. However, you earn your stripes in the playoffs! Lets give the kid time to grow up before we compare him to Kobe.

Has LeBron ever been considered a defensive stopper? Made NBA D-Teams? Basketball is a two way game. Kobe is by far the more complete player. By the way, Kobe has rings. When LeBron gets his ring, then we'll talk again.

Numbers wise its close KB around 28 6 and 6 to LBJ 27 7 and 7. LeBron had a great year and Kobe had a down year. LeBron won more games though. I guess LeBron, but one season of great #'s does not a great career make.

Hmm i actually had too give this a thought!
And when comparing like this with active players you simply go by theyre most resent games and season and i have too say based upon last season Lebron is a better player.

There are many things on the floor that Kobe does better but all around i feel Lebron might be slightly better...
Last season he had better stats than Kobe and that counts for something but not everything, he is bigger and stronger a little bit more athletic and has similar quickness and speed.

But i sure hope Kobe proves me wrong on this one this coming season!!!

Honestly, what do you expect?

I say Kobe, but you have to consider that this is a Lakers forum.
You'll get a different answer from Cavs fans or Miami fans.

Do the same one of Wade vs. Bron and you'll get >70% voting for Bron.

This isn't some place you'd expect a unbiased view when it's Kobe vs. whomever.

LJ hasn't even made it to the playoffs in the weakazz EASTERN CONFERENCE. Kobe has taken over and won more Finals games and Conference Finals games than you are capable of counting.
Hey Carl, I see you finally stopped trolling w/ Jordan bait and have now switched over to LeBron worms. I mean I knew you were a Kobehatin troll but this is quite a reach don't you think.
Are you really MJ just trying to see if people remember who you are?
Dude it's a LAKER board. Are you stupid or a jerk?
