It's gotta be right to fight certain 168ers. I think it was a huge mistake to say 154-168. But the latest is a bout with Carl Froch overseas. That's a reason to go up to 168. Imagine 65k at Wimbley. Big money and a good name on his resume even if Froch is on the down side.
Rewatched the Ward/Froch fight a week ago.
Wasn't even close.
For being an inside fighter, Ward has great defensive technique. Not used to seeing a supermiddle weight dodge punches like that.
Yeah, Virgil Hunter said he needs to hit without getting hit. Dude is good trainer. Speaking of rewatching fights, I just watched de la Hoya versus Quartey. That was a really good fight. Oscar's left hook was strong but Quartey wasn't no joke.

Seems like early in the fight, Dirrell was using that jab and controlling the fight. Even cut DeGaleand was on his way to putting Round 2 in the bank. Boom went from 20-18 to 17-19 just like that. Probably cost him the fight.
??? It looks like you scored the fight for Dirrell actually, including 3 10-10 rounds. I scored it 114-113 for Degale. Had first round a draw but gave rounds 4 and 5 and 7-10 to Dirrell with the rest to DeGale. So I actually had Dirrell winning more rounds than DeGale (6-5-1) but the two knockdowns were the difference IMO. Feel anything from 115-111 DeGale to to 114-112 Dirrell would've been reasonable...

I like what Al's doing. He's giving fighters decent paydays. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Much more entertaining fight than I anticipated it being. I had Dirrell coming back and winning 7 of the 12 rounds, so my card ended up being a draw (113-113). Not sure how that one judge had Degale winning by such a wide margin.
In any event, did anybody watch the final FNF?!!! Such an awesome final FNF w/ Mike Perez vs. Povetkin and the Boxino Finals.

Keep your eyes on Anthony Joshua, folks
Even though he's still early in his career, Teddy Atlas had mentioned him and I'm looking forward to seeing him get bigger TV appearances. _________________ Just chill and watch the new Dynasty evolve...

Had nothing to do with Mayweather or GGG. Those TV deals were signed early in the year to bring boxing back to free TV, a promoter finally saw how MMA was gaining popularity by having free MMA fights and decided boxing needed to bring those back.
Well, technically, Al Haymon is not considered a promoter, which is why Top Rank and Golden Boy are looking to sue him. In any event, it was Al Haymon's doing that we get to see Premiere Boxing Championship fights on Free TV (NBC and CBS signed deals).
Now isn't that just being petty....instead of exposing people who don't really watch boxing and could be interested in fights other than the big PPV's, these guys want their cut.
Totally is...When I heard that, I was like...they're just mad that they didn't think of the idea first! I think what Haymon did was brilliant. Initially, I thought the dude was just out for the money and business, but it turned out to be something WAY bigger, which was also beneficial for the fans and also non-boxing fan consumers.
The thing is, I also found out (after looking more into it) that there's a ruling where managers cannot act as promoters and vice versa. And that's where GBP and TR are supposedly upset. They feel like he's acting like a promoter, but in reality, he's not the one promoting the cards. He's leaving that up to the Networks and staying out of the public eye. If he were acting like a promoter, we'd see him way more in the public eye than we do (and the times that we do, it's few and far between, in still photography, not video). So, ultimately, TR & GBP just look completely butt hurt over the whole thing and I'm not sure if they have much of a case, since he's not really doing anything to promote PBC. _________________ Just chill and watch the new Dynasty evolve...

Now that's respectable pay days for the athletes that are risking themselves in there.
Especially seeing how badly Andre got dropped in round 2, but got back up and kept fighting? That deserves 1.55M for sure. _________________ Just chill and watch the new Dynasty evolve...

And, jodeke, looks like Kell Brook isn't getting a HBO broadcast. Sky sports broadcast for his fight against Gavin. _________________ Just chill and watch the new Dynasty evolve...

Algieri isnt the one to do it but Khan needs his bell rung one more time. Dudes mouth just doesn't stop. The Perez knockout was sweet, real risky letting him go after the first knock down.

Yup. Amir needs to remember how badly he was hurt by both Maidana and Garcia.
I didn't realize, but my friend sent me a pic from the Final press conference and Algieri towers over Amir. I think Amir might be more realistically around 5'9, rather than 5'10 or 5'11 that he lists. _________________ Just chill and watch the new Dynasty evolve...

I'd really like to see him fight Floyd; I thought Floyd struggled with Oscar's speed back in the day and Khan reminds me a bit of him there.. we will see.

I think it was more Oscar's reach and strong jab. Floyd was still faster than Oscar and Oscar was already significantly slower (than earlier in his career), by the time he faced Floyd. I think Amir is faster than Oscar, even in Oscar's heyday. Thing is, Floyd's timing is 10X's better than Amir, so I think that fight comes down to how much Virgil really has improved on Amir's flaws. _________________ Just chill and watch the new Dynasty evolve...

It won't a difference who Floyd fight. He'll find a way to not get hit. H own's a Pinnarello Dogma 2. He get on his bike and go for 50.
If you like fights, Floyd will be a disappointment to you. If you like boxing, he's a joy to watch. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
