Are MOST of the Shaq fans you SAW sporting the new Miami jerseys in LA fat? |
Yes, they were mostly an obese bunch, to a point where the percentage of the obese was greater than the expected from the general LA population |
|
81% |
[ 18 ] |
No, the level of obesity of Shaq fans did seem to greatly differ from the level of obesity of other Laker fans or LA population in general |

I have been dying to know the obesity level of the bitter and the forgotten Shaq fans who used to be Laker fans.
Hypothesis: there is a correlation between obesity and identifying Shaq.
Method: Since, I'm not trying to prove my hypothesis, only a biased online poll... but I've seen worse polls.
So in all seriousness,
Are most of the Shaq fans you saw sporting the new Miami jerseys in LA fat? |

Can you have them post their IQ, as well? _________________ "It’s like going to the Getty and standing in front of Van Gogh’s Irises while some schmuck next to you critiques individual brush strokes. Just shut up already. The more you talk, the more you embarrass yourself." |

A few things I've been wondering as well.
Have most Kobe supporters been accused of sexual assualt?
Are most AI supporters gangsters?
Are most Eric Dampier supporters lazy?
Do most of Quintel Woods supporters abuse dogs?
Are most Mark Madsen supporters slow white guys?
Have most Jayson Williams supporters shot limo drivers?
I think we should get to the bottom of these issues as well. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

First of all, venturalakerfan, it's quite interesting you bring up Kobe's sexual assault case into this.
You must have found the poll that offensive huh?
Second of all, have we gotten so politically correct that one can't even propose a question about obesity?
Ignorant you say?
Why so?
Because I proposed the hypothesis that perhaps Shaq fans are able to identify with Shaq a little better because of their obesity?
Is that such a ludicrous question?
It's really not a rare behavior, to identify with another person because of their similarities... pretty much an innate human behavior.
Asians (like myself) mingle with Asians... African Americans with African Americans...
People form communities, clubs, and groups of all sizes throughout the society based on their similarities.
So why is it ignorant to say a group of fans might identify with Shaq because of their similarities?
And finally, I see that I have offended some people, three of whom made unnecessarily vitriolic comments about either I or Kobe(ventura).
But why would anyone be offended by this poll unless he or she was obese?
I suppose for those rare few who are "superobese," and I'm sure there are some on this board like Joe McDonell given the size of this board, this poll might be incredibly offensive.
Well, I can't please everyone.
Either way, interesting to see such displeasure from a few of you. |

Are Shaq's fans obese?
Do Kobe's fans have small hands?
Do Lamar's fans laugh uncontrollably and eat and tell stories the whole day?
Are Steve Nash's fans Canadians?
Do Rubben Patterson's fans have trouble hiring a nanny? |

Im a Laker fan, not a Shaq fan or Kobe fan, I only cheer for Kobe and Shaq because they are or were Lakers. Its 80% of the people in here who are Kobe or Shaq. I think those 80% should be separted into Kobe ground and Shaqground and leave Lakerground to the true Laker fans who actually give a (bleep) about the Lakers and not the soap opera that is Kobe and SHaq or whoever you guys talk about.... |

I'm with you man. I only favor players that play for the lakers, but once they go out, I no longer favor them anymore. I'm a Laker fan, not a shaq fan, not a kobe fan, a laker fan. I just favor Kobe more than anyone else right now because he is a laker, but if he ever leaves, then I will no longer support Kobe. If what's best is trading shaq, then so be it. If what's best is trading kobe, then so be it. I agree with the moves that are best for the Lakers, not for the players. Laker fan for life!!! |

That's a great point until you use your brain for a second, then it becomes obvious that there are quite a few reasons someone might find your poll offensive that have nothing to do with his or her own weight, such as:
1) Having a family member who is currently obese.
2) Having a family who DIED because of complications from being obese.
3) Having a significant other who is, was, or is on/off obese.
4) Having a close friend who is, was, or is on/off obese.
