Hey, good luck Laker fans!

I've actually mentally prepared myself for the Celtics losing this series, but they still have a chance. I was really pleasantly surprised that they beat Cleveland and Orlando. Like Kobe said, the Lakers learned from 2008 that defense and strong physical play is the key for them to becoming champions so they learned from the Celtics style of play. The Lakers are playing very well right now.

There was the 84 series followed by 85 when the Lakers won. We'll see.

Good luck to you Boston fans as well. I certainly believe whoever win the series deserve to be the "Team of the decade".

Obviously Lakers and Celtics are the true contender this year, so everything they did thus far is not surprising to me. Celtics are a great team and so are we. Not only is this series mean a lot to both teams (I believe it means to Lakers more than Celtics since Celtics already show they can beat us in '08), but also the entire league. We probably be hunted next season in each respective conference no matter who's winning this year. But I definitely hope it's us because like I said, this Final means more to us than Celtics.

Which decade is this? We've won 4 compared to their 2 (at best). Even the Spurs won 3.

I hate to say it but the Lakers are the NBA team of this decade with their early run with Kobe/Shaq and all their championships and one last year. I will say that Boston is the city of the decade for sports with their Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics championships but that's a different argument.

Celtics won't be a position to be hunted next season. They may be rebuilding but I will still be around no matter what. I think this Finals means more to this current Celtics team because it is their last shot at a title for awhile. Lakers have a few more shots left.

Obviously the new decade, 2010 and forward because I don't know if any teams in the future can put together the kind of players and team both side can. You have the greatest individual player in Kobe and full of competitors on both side (KG, Artest, Fisher, Pau, Ray, Pau, etc..). It's just not possible to have the same kind of teams like these in the forseeable future, especially with the new collective bargaining agreement which I'm sure will lower the salary cap, thus reducing star players on future teams.

There, now that this thread has been made ridiculous it will no longer have an effect.

Yep. I'm reminded of Pat Riley in Boston Garden ordering that the Lakers' water be dumped out in case it was poisoned.

Two great progressive and liberal cities go head to head. May the best team win. Of course, I meant the Lakers.

What is the point of this? First you wish us luck, then you talk about the Kobe/Shaq era and then you talk about which city is the better sports city. Who cares?

For the record, I wish the Celtics no luck. And I don't you to wish us luck.

Good luck to boston fans. As much as we hate them, they are a classy franchise and have a great fanbase.
