RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) — The ex-wife of former NBA player Lorenzen Wright will not fight authorities’ attempt to send her from California to Tennessee, where she’s charged with killing him nearly eight years ago.
The Desert Sun newspaper reports that Sherra Wright briefly appeared in Riverside County Superior Court on Monday agreed to go back to Tennessee to face first-degree murder charges.
Authorities now have 30 days to bring her to Memphis, where Lorenzen Wright was found dead in 2010 at age 34. He had been shot multiple times.
Sherra Wright was arrested in December.
Lorenzen Wright played for 13 seasons as a forward and center in the NBA, including several for the Grizzlies in Memphis, where he was born and raised | . |

This is a sordid tale. His ex-wife has him killed for insurance money, then she blows through all of the money in a year. |
Chilling how some people can be so cold blooded and still consider themselves "spiritual" people. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

Just read about it today. I remember it was being floated that he was in with a "bad crowd". It appears that crowd was pretty close to home. |

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — A judge in Tennessee has ordered a mental evaluation for the jailed ex-wife of slain former NBA player Lorenzen Wright.
Criminal Court Judge Lee Coffee said Wednesday that he’s signed an order for doctors to evaluate Sherra Wright’s ability to stand trial on charges of first-degree murder and attempted murder.
Lorenzen Wright’s body was found riddled with bullet wounds in a swampy field in Memphis in July 2010. He was missing for 10 days before his body was found.
Sherra Wright and co-defendant Billy Ray Turner were indicted in December. Turner also is charged with first-degree murder. Both have pleaded not guilty.
Doctors will determine if Wright can help in her defense and if she can understand the consequences if convicted.
Wright had a 13-year NBA career where he played for five NBA teams but played the longest with the Memphis Grizzlies. He averaged 8 points and 6.4 rebounds a game as a center during that time. He retired from the NBA in 2009. |

This woman will try anything. When she was facing an extradition hearing she showed up in a wheelchair. Her first defense team already withdrew from the case.
I'd be surprised if she hasn't already tried to cut a deal to try and put it all on her co-defendant. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — A doctor has found the jailed ex-wife of slain former NBA player Lorenzen Wright mentally competent to stand trial.
Shelby County Criminal Court Judge Lee Coffee said Friday that he’s been informed by Dr. Wyatt Nichols that Sherra Wright can advise her lawyers and help with her defense against charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder in her ex-husband’s slaying.
Coffee had ordered a mental evaluation of Sherra Wright.

Wonder if she rolled on her co-conspirator. When someone has actually been murdered I don't see how both can be convicted of facilitation but not the actual act of murder. Eligible for parole in nine years seems too light of a sentence. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |
