Yes. As a big time Shaq fan this is great news. _________________ "That's somebody that's the greatest in the game and is a dominant player," Wall said. "It was great to hear from Kobe. That's going to motivate me more to keep working hard and to keep getting better."

i have a great amount of respect for shaq and what he did for the Lakers during his time here. he definitely deserves getting his jersey retired as a Laker. thats where he obtained most of his accolades that are basically landing him in the Hall of Fame.
i may change my pov on this subject if we match up vs the celtics in this years finals. |

Jeanie didn't say, but she's going to send the retired jersey to Boston Garden so it can be hang there. |

Really. Shaq's a mug. But his contributions on the court to this franchise is not in question. There was never a doubt he would get his jersey retired.
The only question is, which team will he choose to go into the Hall. If I was a betting man, I'd bet he's going to choose the Lakers. |

I may be thinking of the wrong sport or suffering from dementia, but doesn't a player decide which team he wants to be officially represented by when he gets into the HOF? That is, for those who have played on more than one team naturally. Or is that baseball? Or am I just making [bleep] up? Correct me if I'm wrong. |

I don't have a problem with this. They should just make it smaller than the others. _________________ "Kobe Bryant is the best player in the world and is basically unstoppable when his game is on" - Barack Obama

This is an issue in baseball, not so much in basketball.
Quote: | While the text on a [baseball] player's plaque lists all of teams for which the player was a member, inductees are depicted wearing the cap of a specific team, or, in some cases, wearing a cap without a logo. The Hall selects the logo "based on where that player makes his most indelible mark." Although the Hall always made the final decision on which logo was shown, until 2001 the Hall deferred to the wishes of players whose careers were linked with multiple teams. |
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Baseball_Hall_of_Fame_and_Museum
There is no NBA Hall of Fame. 82 coaches have been inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. Only 139 players have been inducted, and that includes 11 women, as well as a handful of men who played internationally and never in the NBA. There are thirteen refs in the Basketball Hall of Fame. The Basketball Hall of Fame is a joke. |
