I guess I never noticed...always sounded like boos to me.

Yeah it kinda started with Tyronn Lue when he was on the team.

Actually it started with COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP when Michael Cooper played for the Lakers. Or maybe even before that. This isn't something "new".

Actually it started back in the Roman empire, when they would yell Caaaaaaaaaaaeeeeesssssaaaaaaar

Or when they killed Caesar:

Cooouuup

I may be in the minority here, but...

I <3 Luke.

OMG, when I heard this... I automatically thought about LG and the threads that will show it's ugly face because of it. It was actually funny and seeing as how people think of Phil and Luke's manship on LG, this will be talked about for the early part of the season.

PUKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE?

Sound like Boo + Luke combined together.

If you hear it, you definitely confuse if fans yell Luke or Booo!

What is ugly is the sight of Luke trying to play basketball on TV, then his father's buddies give himm credit for dribbling and making a entry pass, if he had a morale bone in his body he would just retire.

Phil loves Luke and may eventually put him on his coaching staff next year when/if Luke hangs up his sneakers.

Old man Phil's boy crush on the red headed one is absolutely disgusting and vomit inducing. Why not just tell the world Luke is really his cabana boy who gives him hot rock massages when Jeanie is away, it's way too obvious. Announcing Luke is his son during a "ring ceremony?" umm creepy. Maybe it has some "other" significance. Those two need to get a room. This means Luke will retire a Laker ughh.

In the pre-Gasol era, Kobe, Luke, and Lamar had a nice dynamic going and were pretty fun to watch at times.

With all the injuries and the stellar play of guys like Ariza and then Artest it seems like poor Luke has been lost in the shuffle. I feel sorry for him, but it looks like he's kissed enough of Phil's butt that he may have a career in assistant coaching.

Lol serious?

It went back since the Coop days.

The original...COOOOOOOP!

You're old school dude, you should know that!

No no, I mean I never knew they were doing that for Luke. It's always sounded like boos to me...which is actually pretty belieavable.

All good.

Crazy thing though, is outside of LG, people love Luke. There's SOOO many Lakers fans out there that believe this myth.

Yea, people love Luke alright, other team's fans love him when he plays because he suck so bad and still plays, whoever he guards starts with a automatic 10 points before they enter the game.

No matter who is who's father or son, Luke should retire earlier than Phil.

Guys guys... If you hate Luke, remember that he willingly gave up his starting position to Trevor Ariza the year we won against the Magic. He's a good player who knows the triangle, albeit with a body as frail as his real father. He's also a team player and having someone like that on your team helps (it does in the work environment, for sure).

Yes it's common knowledge Luke will get the LUUUUUUUUUKE greeting from the crowd....

... similar to when Michael Cooper played when he would get the COOOOOOOOOP greeting from the crowd....

... certain players have a name that just works well that way....

^^ I see it's been covered once again....

Rodman28 - Have you been watching games going back to when Luke used to start games for awhile?

.... you don't hear it nearly as much now but back then the crowd would typically call out LUUUUUUUKE when he come back into a game after a break for example...

I think Luke Walton could be in the Hall of Fame at some point...for coaching!...LOL...Seriously, I think he's more valuable as a potential coach than a player.
