Nice. Confirms a couple of theories discussed here. Can't wait for tomorrow's episode. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

This probably means Tyrion, but could also theoretically be Jaime (if he was born first). Given the accuracy of the other part of her prophecy -- that she'd outlive all her children -- in combination with the weight similar prophecies are given throughout the series, there's probably a good chance this comes to fruition.
I wasn't aware of this previously, and wasn't sure if y'all were either, so I thought I'd pass it along. |
I went back and watched the flashback scene of Cersei and the witch from season 5. They left out the part about the volangar which came from the books and I don't recall any mention about Jaime and Cersei's birth either. Maybe the show writers didn't want to give away too much about the ending.
It would have brought an interesting dynamic to Cersei's desire to kill Tyrion before he could fulfill that part of the prophecy but she already has so many other reasons to want to kill him by now. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

So, just guessing, and it'll be a while before it would possibly happen, but...
I'm guessing that Arya will have an encounter/fight with Jamie, and the show will make it so you don't know who died. Then Jamie will meet with Cersei (and maybe even act weird) and you won't be sure if it's Arya or Jamie.
Basically, stems around the fact that if she wants to kill Cersei, she will only be able to get close enough as Jamie. Also, trying to think like the show writers. |

I hope not. Cersei's death really needs to come from the hand of another Lannister. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

So, was that Nymeria and it didn't recognize her or it didn't want to go back, or actually a different wolf? |

As Missandei (damn she's hot) reminded us, Valyrian is a gender neutral language. Valonqar can just as well mean little sister. And Maggie the frog said valonqar not your valonqar. So technically it can be Arya, Euron, etc.. Having said that I think it will end up being Jaime. Mountain might kill Jaime tho. _________________ Alltime lineup: Magic | Kobe | MJ | Hakeem | KAJ

What a scene! But to be fair let's hold off on spoilers until it airs on the west coast? _________________ Alltime lineup: Magic | Kobe | MJ | Hakeem | KAJ |

I'm on the west coast and I see it at 6PM. I guess it's fair enough to hold off though. |

That was Nymeria. I think they were going with the "look how much the wolf has changed, doesn't that say something about Arya wink-wink-nudge-punch-you-in-the-face-with-the-metaphor" angle.

It recognized her. Or else they'd have devoured. Nymeria in the books is told be have gone fully wild and has her own pack of wolves she runs with. Showrunners explained it well. Some things can't be domesticated, I think that's the point. Each direwolf's arc serves as parallel/metaphor for its owner. _________________ Alltime lineup: Magic | Kobe | MJ | Hakeem | KAJ

You're right. I meant that it didn't care that it recognized her---other than stopping it from killing her, there was a "i owe you no allegiance" element, so your point is well-taken. i also think its an obvious teaching moment for arya, as in "look what path your heading down." more reason to send her north |

Loved that opening scene in the strategy room on Dragonstone with many of the major players in the game of thrones and next week we'll get Jon Snow added to the mix. Diana Rigg continues to stand out in every scene she's in.
What a great choice to cast her as the Queen of Thorns.
The only part that had me shaking my head was how come Varys' spies didn't know about Euron's fleet? How does an armada of ships sail in and out of King's Landing without him knowing about it?
I've been railing about Sam's storyline for the last two years but tonight's episode is the first time it actually had some meaning.
As far as west coast spoilers, I'm on the west coast as well. This thread has been open for six years now and GoT has aired at the same time on Sundays since the start. Anyone who participates in this thread and watches the show should know to avoid it if they see its been updated on Sunday night and they're not caught up. _________________ "Suck it up. Me either. I'd rather see Jaime hesitate to kill Cersei and the two of them get blown up together than see anyone else take her down.
I just can't picture it being Tyrion though. Even though he's resorted to murder a few times but he's always gotten back at Cersei by trying to out think her. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

I wonder when Westeros will be coming to Disneyland or Universal Studies (i.e. like the Wizarding World of Harry Potter). There would be so many different locations that could be created. |

I know Theon is getting crap, but I'm not sure what he could have done. Euron had a blade at Yara's throat. He could have killed her easily if Theon approached/attacked him. |

So Arya going to Winterfell to meet up with Sansa. Jon to meet up with Dany and her gang. And damn Euron, I see you. He's a force to be reckoned with. |

So I'm just going to assume that Jon is going to die sooner rather than later.
Between the King in the North scene, choking out LF as Ned did in season 1 (in front of Ned's (bleep) tomb no less), and now leaving Sansa in charge of Winterfell -- as Ned did Cat -- while riding South, they're almost overdoing this "following in the footsteps of dead men" metaphor.
Great episode though |

He reverted to Reek. Hard to blame him with the (bleep) he's been through. Dont see him making a comeback after that though, he likely dies at some point this season. |

I hope not. Would rather have Daenerys impaled on a pike since it'll relieve us of the one casting mistake the producers made. _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif
