'Game of Thrones' is shooting multiple endings, HBO exec says

"I know in 'Game of Thrones,' the ending, they're going to shoot multiple versions so that nobody really know what happens," Bloys said in a recording of his Moravian College speech released and first reported by The Morning Call.
"You have to do that on a long show. Because when you're shooting something, people know," he added. "They're going to shoot multiple versions so that there's no real definitive answer until the end."

As long as we get to see the different endings on the Blu-Rays...

She should have already agreed to put Johnny Fontane in that picture.

Love these. Thanks. I believe the narrator was Harry Lloyd who played Viserys Targaryan in S1.

Looking forward to seeing the rest when S7 is released this December. They eventually find their way to YouTube as well.

IIRC, it was a large variety of narrators, from Ed Stark to Robert Baratheon.

I agree, these series are freaking epic!!

SEPT 9 AT THE FABULOUS FORUM

One of the best concert experiences I've ever had. Watching the huge orchestra playing with the actual scenes plus Fire, Rain, Snow, and all kinds of other visual and sound effects made it such an incredible show.

I was shocked that the Forum was barely half full when I went and tickets were pretty cheap, like 35 bucks for decent center, upper mid level.

If you're a serious fan, you'll be here on Sept 9.

I haven't seen anything yet that contradicts the original 6 episode announcement for season 8.

It hasn't been officially announced whether any or all of the episodes will be extended versions like we got for the last two episodes of this season but that's one of the rumors.

What is looking likely is season 8 won't air until 2019 due to the filming scheduled to wrap up as late as next August followed by the extensive post-production process.

I heard all 6 episodes for the final season will be longer than an hour.

HBO just confirmed there will be no new GoT this year.

In what is probably unsurprising but no doubt disappointing news for “Game of Thrones” fans, HBO confirmed Thursday that the show won’t return for its eighth and final season until 2019.

Though shooting began in October and the final season will have only six episodes, compared to 10 in the first six seasons and seven last year, there had been indications that the fantasy epic wouldn’t come back in 2018. Actors and others who work on the show have suggested that Season 8’s episodes — and thus the length of the shoot — will be the longest “Game of Thrones” has ever had. So far the roughly 80-minute Season 7 finale has been the show’s longest episode.

Good timing on this thread as HBO was (is?) rerunning them recently and I recorded that last two seasons (#6 & #7) and I am re-watching them now.

The last two seasons are so awesome and I hoping season 8 will be even better, so I'm fine with them taking their time and getting it all right.

I have Vikings and Knightfall to keep me distracted in the meantime...

I don't mind necessarily. I just wish that extra time would be allocated to screenwriting in particular instead of shooting and production like I imagine it will be.

anyone get the season 7 BlueRay?

I'm thinking the special features are the main reason to pick it up and should be very good.

I will after the price drops as I love the history of GoT narrated short videos but someone has already posted them for Season 7.

It appears there are 67 episodes out there. Is it worth my while to catch up on the series before Season 8 comes out? I've watched a grand total of 1 episode. It didn't grab me the first time but FOMO is getting the best of me.

If you watched the first episode and didn't have a desire to continue watching, it's probably not worth your time investment. It's an incredibly dense storyline. So, if you aren't totally excited and invested, trying to get caught up before the final season would be daunting.

That's not to say you wouldn't enjoy the series if you just watched it and let it play out at your leisure. It's just not a show that lends itself to binge watching the entire series so far just to get caught up.
