He's taking a lot of shots after starting sooooo well....but is the perception here that he is playing terribly or just shooting too much?

He does need to bring those shot attempts to around 20-22 a game and take shots "WITHIN" the offense opposed to dribbling around and pump faking 3 times to take a 20 ft jumper!!!!!

It's funny that what's considered one of Kobe's worst seasons so far would be the best for many players, even superstars.

Kobe's numbers so far this year have been very similar to AI's MVP season. Now obviously AI's team was winning, but this just shows how much Kobe's expected of.
Not to mention Kobe's the measure of how good another star guard is. They always compare others to him (VC vs Kobe, TMac vs Kobe, AI vs Kobe, Pierce vs Kobe, Wade vs Kobe, Lebron vs Kobe).

Still, I can't say I'm happy with his performance so far. Hope he gets his game back on track.

it's the type of shots and when he's shooting them. Kobe especially in the Utah game took long shots outnumbered as much as 3 to 1. He seems to be trying to convince himself he's superman. It's one thing when you're the only one capable of scoring, however he's not. Furthermore we see a lot of guys holding back on the break because Kobe rather than taking the center lane on a break veers one side or another and ends up either forcing the penetration, or making a desperate pass. Even in the set offense the other players tend to watch for him and give him the ball so the offense stagnates. Kobe I'm sure is trying make everyone believe he can carry the club much like Iverson or KG....unfortunately he's not and really hurting the club.

I've been watching Kobe since his first year... I have seen some of the same, basic weaknesses, throughout... The only thing that has made a difference, is that Kobe has learned to, somewhat, play with the team, for, at least, short stretches of time... Another big factor, is the role players, that have surrounded Kobe... You will notice, that during the 3-Peat Years, Kobe had people like Harper, Shaw, and Derrick Fisher, for ball handling... Need we mention the bigman, in the middle??

The reason we're starting to notice some of Kobe's weaknesses, more, is because he is, arguably, our only superstar left. In essence, Kobe has got his wish... The Lakers are Kobe's Team, win or lose.
