There are Internet rumors floating around that Starbucks gives financial support to the Israeli government.

Jim Buss has already made it clear that he’s taking a new approach. For better or worse he’s going to do things his way. That doesn’t mean he won’t have GM Mitch give Otis Smith a call. It just means you shouldn’t expect him to be too quick to offer Andrew Bynum.

Jim Buss has always been a Bynum backer and it seems unlikely that is going to change. Even after Baby Bynum’s Dallas meltdown you’d better believe Buss still has his back.

Since we could be facing a lockout in the coming weeks there is a pretty good chance there won’t be trade talks of any kind. However if you want to gauge just what kind of owner Jim Buss is going to be then pay attention to how he handles Bynum.

If Drew is dangled on the open market then it would seem Jim Buss is seeking to start anew. If he continues to stand behind Bynum then a pretty clear line will have been drawn.

Jim Buss has got to find the next franchise player for the Los Angeles Lakers. KB24 is nearing the end of his prime and within 5 years this teams will have been turned upside down. The question is do you trust Jim Buss?

No matter your answer, if you’re a Lakers fans you’ve really got no choice in the matter.
Magic's tweets are meaningless, Jim Buss is the owner and even if you don't like the way he's doing things there's nothing you, Magic or anyone other than Jerry can do about it.

Dwight Howard is a pipe dream, one smoked by those who don't think Andrew is a franchise player. I think he can be central in the teams future.

As with any player who's foundation, he's going to need quality players around him. That's the task Jim and Mitch have to manage. Jerry kept us relevant, Jim's inherited the job.

Laker FO is my angst, Jim has let some key personnel go, but that's another thread in itself.

Gotta love Magic's imagination there. "deerrrr, the Lakers suck now, they should like get Dwight Howard and stuff deerrrr."

Yeah, Orlando is just going to give up Dwight for Bynum because they just love helping out the Lakers so much. I guess Magic is as naive as a lot of posters here.

So explain this to me... Magic tweets what 80% of the people think should happen with the Lakers and he's greeted with derision. So he isn't the most polished public speaker or the best broadcaster out there. He's a freakin living legend and the greatest player to don the purple and gold. And to top it all off, this should be far less controversial than his earlier comments (or the Logo's for that matter) that our team didn't cut it or wasn't good enough as configured. Can we please stop posting new threads with Magic tweets for freakin' sake. As pointed out earlier, it's not like a tweet will allow him enough space to do some complex salary cap computation or perhaps explain some theoretical CBA changes. It's a freakin tweet. It's meant to be short, sweet, and to the point. I don't think MJ got as much crap for his embarrasing HOF acceptance speech. We're all Laker fans here. We all love Kobe and all the players on this team and most every one who donned our uniform. I don't see any reason why Magic should shut the f**k up as much as any fan who say's Do it Mitch and tweets such sentiment. It's not like he's telling our team to go to hell or wanting them to lose. He's wants us to bring home more Larry Jr's. Don't get the Magic hate here.

Coherent Kobe 2.0 has to get his quota in, though.

However - before discussing anyone's amount of brain cells - just check your own. What does it have to be with Israelis/Palestinians

Broadcast journalists and pundits spend countless hours of broadcast time, along with the obligatory tweets and blog posts, because people can never seem to get enough of them talking, speculating, analyzing, even griping. It's kind of the same urge that draws us here, to say and read similar things from each other about the same topic. I don't know of one broadcaster, analyst, or very active poster, who can talk a lot about sports and everything they say is a pithy, breaking revelation. Lots of ground is covered and re-covered. It's the nature of it.

But, if Howard doesn't want to play in Orlando, why would he want to play in OKC??? Seems to me that if he gives up on Orlando because they are a small market, he might possibly feel the same way about OKC.

LA is the best place for Howard to play. He knows that the Lakers always compete to win, and we have won rings in every decade since the 70's. If he comes here, we will find the way to win it all with him.

Other teams don't have that track record.

Exactly, it's like little tiny f'ing nerds with big black horned rim glasses telling us what we should think.

Magic has earned the right to say what he wants and, right now, he's not on anybody's payroll and is free to express his opinions. Doesn't really matter what anyone thinks.

And I would add, that the people who claim to hate him for saying things like this, are basically looking for reasons to hate people. Magic doesn't care about the pea brains taking shots at him, pure internet BS.

It's not a question of whether or not Magic has a right to an opinion. It's whether his opinion should be treated as if he's representing the Laker organization.

He's not on the payroll and he sold his stake in the team, so he is not repping us other than in your mind.
