Congrats to Al Davis for being the first person to own a pro sports team that decreases a city's quality of life.

And for serving as a beacon to the meathead, raised-truck driving, attack-from-behind gangster demo that Lux Face sympathizes with. The Niners simply weren't reaching out to this base.

RAIDER FAN HERE.

much respect to all as always, he did whatever the F he wanted and didn't care about what others thought. I respect him for that and he is a true legend.

The Raiders are AL Davis and AL Davis is the Raiders.

Raiders should be the team to move back to LA. The fan base is there and bringing back football to LA would be a perfect transition using a legendary team like the Raiders.

I was thinking the opposite, that with Al now gone maybe the Raiders will allow a real NFL team to move to LA.

That sucks. I guess he can take solace in that Oakland's not doing so bad this year. He may have been a crazy kook, but he treated most of those who worked for him like family. That says a lot of an owner (coughjimbusscough).

I am sure his "son" Marcus Allen would disagree with you.

Without him there wouldn't be a team for all the haters to hate. We are and always will be the villains of the league. The Raiders were Al Davis plain and simple. I hope this team does something special this year like win the Lombardi.

JUST WIN BABY!!!I'll always be a RAIDER FOR LIFE.

I had forgotten about that one.

As a Raider fan I respected what he meant to the Raiders and the image he tried to cultivate. At the same time I've been waiting for him to die so we can actually have a viable football team again. RIP Al...

RIP good thing they won today. It was emotional in the locker room. Hue was having a hard time with it.

It is amazing that he was an assistant coach, head coach, commissioner, and team owner. Like so many great people involved with sports, he just didn't know when it was time to call it quits.
