I guess you could take a flier on him.
For all you know, the injury could be WORSE than he is saying. No one has mentioned THAT.
We really haven't had much luck with these in the recent past tho.

Unfortunately, the lakers are not in a position to hold out for a HOF at PG.

You know I never like BDavis as a pro. And I hated him particularly when playing against the Lakers because he always seemed a little classless and jealous to me. But, it makes sense ... those players that play so hard against the Lakers is the result of a desperate desire to don the purple & gold.
I truly believe that quote that all Baron's ever wanted was to be a Laker. And for a one-season rental ... if duly motivated as I suspect he'd be ... he'd instantly be the best point on the roster BY FAR.
And for the league mini? Man, it makes too much sense the more I think about it and that's a 180-degree turn from where I sat on this issue 3 weeks ago.
With the current squad as is ... I think they'd truly be able to compete quite well if B-Diddy brought what's left of his A-game to LA. |

I hope they sign either Davis or Arenas , if it doesn't work just cut them . Its shame even when those two are hurt they still better options then Fisher. |

Let's see, Baron, Fish, or Blake... Baron, Fish, or Blake... Baron, Fish, or Blake.
I find this decision extremely easy yet painfully nauseating at the same time. |

Get Baron or Arenas - I don't love either, but both would be our best PG by a mile. _________________ Lakers, Chargers, Dodgers, Arsenal FC.

If he signs with LA or NYK and plays immediately, expect the league to issue a suspension for faking an injury. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

For the vet minimum, of course even if he only teaches these guys how to be a true point guard! |

5-game suspension and forfeit of a #1 draft choice to Cleveland, the Clips or Dallas. |

This is the way the Lakers work.
L.A. will sign Baron to vet min. Baron gets healthy, gets a chance to rough up CP3 along the way to a title (the Clippers having made it to the playoffs for the 2nd time since the War of 1812, even though CP3, not Baron has health issues), gets to live out his dream of wearing the P&G and earning a trophy while doing so, and it all happens on Gilbert's dime.

If he comes over to LAL and is motivated by the guys around him. I'm sure he'll be beastly. There wasn't much to be motivated over in LAC/Cavs lol. Just to make money and eat, get out of shape.

Or, after what has happened this offseason, voiding the contract. I know it isn't possible, but I would base the contract on weight. Give Baron more money for every pound under 250. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Have no doubt we'd see a different Baron in P&G. |

Injured Baron is sadly two times better than Fisher and Blake combined. I'm baffled how we won two championships. |

Please keep Arenas away from this team unless theirs nothing left. Can't shake the feeling he's a total nutcase. |

Just one small change to your post. We haven't seen a beastly Baron in quite a few seasons, and don't know if he has it in him. But for vet min, the worst we could do is lose a (relatively) few dollars. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

I have been following this kid since he was in high school out here. In college I thought he would be a good pick up for the Lakers thinking it would never happen. I swear if he stayed one more year he would have been a high first round pick this kid had great size and court vision. The biggest weakness in his game was his outside shot but i hear he worked on it very well and he is knocking it down really good.
I could see him starting for this team with fisher finishing games you never know tony parker surprised the NBA when he started for the Spurs as a rookie and that turned out pretty well. It would be funny if we was looking for a great PG and had it already. |
