Boozer at best gives you less impact doing the things Pau does. He can shoot and pass and post, but none of those things as well as Pau. he's also short and can't defend, and if you think Pau doesn't step up in the playoffs...

But what would you be getting for this massive downgrade? 4 mil a year in savings doesn't seem nearly enough (since the whole premise is that Pau's salary is why you'd send him out), and when you add in the third year, he actually costs you MORE than Pau.

If LA were to trade Pau, they'd do it for a combo of players that would be cheaper than the players they are replacing. If not, there's no basketball reason to do it.

Horrible trade. Bulls were never even considered IMO. Of course the Bulls want him, I doubt the Lakers want their pieces.

So the Bulls would still be interested in fleecing the Lakers by giving up Boozer for Pau? Duh.

I'm one of the people who doesn't think it's a given LA looks to trade Pau in the offseason. I get the tax issues, but if LA is showing ability to win it all, I think Mitch/Jim/Jerry look to fill some small pieces (a shooter/ bench scorer) and give it a whirl next year.

With Sessions, Pau's value skyrockets. He's a fantastic P&R big who can score on the roll or the jumper, and he's one of the best passing bigs in the game, so even if you jump Sessions, Pau facilitates with the ball.

If Lakers win this year, then Pau is safe until next year's trade deadline.
'13-'14 luxury tax is not only expensive, but the new CBA prevents teams from making moves with MLE, etc. Kobe's contract is essentially worth 2 max players; that's why Gasol is the odd man out.

anyone that can help bynum grow/shine will stay.

currently pau is doing a great job of facilitating andrew and i think it's his biggest argument for staying.

i mean regardless of winning a ring this year.

F*** Chicago and F*** this trade idea. The Lakers are done moving pieces for this year. Live or die with the bullets we got.

(I prefer our bullets to Chicago's btw)

Upgrading our PG the way we did was what we needed. Everything else will fall into place. The only way we were going to move Pau was for a premier PG. Now we do not need a premier PG.

We were never desperate to move Pau. The FO loves Pau. Pau will not be traded any longer as we do not need to make a big move. No more Pau trade threads please!

The fact is what was a viable option for Gasol pre-Sessions might be different post-Sessions if he keeps this up. Chicago is viable as I would think the Lakers would want a PF/SF combo.

Taj and Deng fills that void. Also the Lakers have a core of 4 players who would be 27, 25, 26, and I don't know what Taj is off my head but probably around 25.

That's not a bad core at all, plus it would save the Lakers money.

If we trade Pau then we need to get a stretch-4 in return. I think a big that can stretch the floor as well as get inside the paint is the perfect fit for Bynum. The funny thing is, Pau is becoming that guy. As long as Pau can keep draining that midrange shot and occasional corner 3, he's just what we need. The perfect fit would be Kevin Love but we know that's not going to happen. He just might be the best 4 in the league this year.

I think so too. His skill set is very complimentary to Andrew's.

Taj is 26, and does defend real well at the 4, but he's a 35% jump shooter who can never seem to get quality minutes. He's the kind of 3rd big you'd love to have behind Bynum/Pau, but probably not a guy you'd want instead of either.

I can't imagine that happening but if it did I'd be ecstatic.

Except there's absolutely no reason Minny trades Love for Boozer.

As always with Chicago, NO DENG NO DEAL!

And even then, it'd have to be more than just Deng. GTFO here with that boozer crap.

It's nice that they want to trade for him, but unless Rose is part of the deal, I just don't see it happening.

Yep, hence Chicago should just move on.

Minny would trade Love for Loozer?

Love is now their franchise player at very cheap price...he sells ticket for them.

Unless pokoy is manager staff of Minny and helps the Lakers?
