Mike Brown will be fired. The writing is on the wall and it's a matter of weeks IMO.
He"ll have a hard time making it through this month, I expect him to get fired in a week or two.

So, who should be the new Lakers head coach? They will most likely just have Eddie Jordan take over now but that won't be the permanent solution.
FO is not ready to throw the season away like they did when Hamblen took over in midseason. Unlike Hamblen's team, this team does have championship nucleus.

Personally, I'd want Brian Shaw. I know he was pretty much expelled by Jim Buss as Jim wanted to get rid of everything Phil (worst decision ever) but maybe they can bury the hatchet and yeah, I want the triangle back. But that takes full season to implement.
So to early to talk about that. Bring Brian Shaw back and just run the basic Steve Nash offense. I like Princeton but it should be scrapped.

Shaw won't come back after he was dismissed. A damn shame too. I think he deserved a chance after the time he put in.

I'd love Brian Shaw because he was the obvious successor to Phil

What's JVG's contract situation? He's an actual proven defensive coach that would let Nash do his thing

Yeah, the new coach will make MWP smarter, Pau tougher, and Ebanks/D. Morris into good players.

IMO, Mike Brown has somewhere between now and Thanksgiving to get this team turned around.

There are 9 games on the schedule before then. 7 of the games are at home over a 2 week stretch, giving the Lakers plenty of practice time in El Segundo. More importantly, 7 of those 9 games are against conference rivals.

Sun, Nov 4 vs Detroit
Wed, Nov 7 @ Utah
Fri, Nov 9 vs Golden State
Sun, Nov 11 vs Sacramento
Tue, Nov 13 vs San Antonio
Fri, Nov 16 vs Phoenix
Sun, Nov 18 vs Houston
Tue, Nov 20 vs Brooklyn
Wed, Nov 21 @ Sacramento

If the team comes out of this stretch in LAST PLACE in the Western Conference, Mike Brown will have surrendered his right to be the coach of the Lakers.

Perhaps Brown won't fail, but I have my doubts that he's going to get this turned around. On the journey to title #17, Mike Brown is a big fat speed bump.

The triangle would handicap Nash as well. I thought we wanted more PnR?

PJ never ran the tri 100% of the time. Nash with his range would do great in the tri unlike Gary Payton. They can easily run pick and roll with the tri mixed in. I am confident PJ can mastermind this.

It's too late to bury the hatchet.

He never should have been hired in the first place. Did Jim not see what happened for two straight years when Cleveland sputtered out of the playoffs?

The Lakers would e digging an even deeper hole by doing this.
