LT is about the only remaining presence from the glory years, so part of the respect he gets is from that. Part of it also is he is still good. I actually don't mind that. A more modern "Hollywood" atmosphere makes more sense that pretending its still 1980, especially to FAs. That said, its a shame that outside of LT and maybe Stu (maybe, he's still problematic) our announcers and media guys are mostly generic filler rather than top talents.

I know he won't last and we will have some guy yelling all the time in the near future to go along with our wish patches and the blasting techno music. But for now, I can be happy and just soak in the coolness that is LT.
But if the annoying Detroit guy was yelling for the Lakers, would it still be annoying?
I love LT! So classy. LA does not need a hype man on the mic like those other cities. I am talking about you DEEEEETTTTTTTTTRROOOOOOOOOOITT

Yes. Not saying LT is great but we don't need the other extreme either.

And I can agree with that, but I think LT is loved because he has been a Laker for so long. Our memories all involve him. I think being on the right side is a lot more important for likability than actual content sometimes.
For me personally, he doesnt add anything to the experience and I wouldn't miss him after he retired.

Please no. I don't know if I can sit through this without thinking our team is some sort of side-show. I have to admit though, it takes creativity to introduce Ben Wallace like that. Tanter definitely has way more class.
