You have to go through a few missions first. Once you have got your own car you will be ready.

The matchmaking seems to be working fine for me as of now. The ammunation online activity/job is actually kinda fun.
I was able to find a helicopter at the place where you buy the helipad for Michael/Franklin in single player. Made a easy getaway vehicle for robbing stores got a couple of grand doing that. Usually when you get there a helicopter is landing you just wait till he leaves the helicopter and take it. Can you buy a helipad online?
I just can't see the online portion having any kind of long lasting community. Also, when everyone reviewed this game why was the mp not factored in? Every other game that also includes mp gets included with the overall score. Shouldn't they have just waited to review the entire package? Very clever on Rockstar's end to release mp at a later date. I'm sure there are some politics going on behind the scenes.
What review sites actually factor in the online into the review? NBA 2k been steady getting 9+ and its online is simply awful. Then again, it has no business getting a 9 in the first place. I think IGN is giving GTA Online a separate review, and they'll wait until the fix(rightfully so).
As for having a long lasting community, I still play SA-MP, a lot of people do. Still going very strong despite San Andreas being released 10 years ago. You can do a lot more things in GTA Online, though SA-MP has some advantages over GTAO.
Not sure what you consider a strong community. It will never reach COD, BF, Halo, SC II etc. Rockstar ain't bout this online life.
Anyways, I got about 20k in the game but only by robbing stores and selling cars. Otherwise I cannot do any missions. Auto fails every time.

I just want to jump into a co-op game with a buddy and I can't because I have to go through these tutorials which just time out or fail. WTG Rockstar, glad I have the BF4 beta downloading right now.
Haven't tried online yet but from all I'm reading it's a good thing I really only bought this game for single player.
If online ever turns into a good thing that would just be a bonus
i finally got on friday night. online is lovely. but rockstar and take two are just horrible online with games this popular. they really need the help of an EA. i keep saying it because its true. _________________ LAL4K3RS wrote: He(Kobe) is the white haired kung fu master that you realize is older than dirt but can still kick your arse when in a sitting position drinking a nice herbal tea.
it's obvious that R* is purposely screwing up the online portion to magnify the greatness of the single player campaign. after about a month, after enough time has passed for everyone to finish single player, R* will fix GTA online so people will get excited again. genius
i thought you take their cash when you kill people ? all I get is $100, does that mean they have no cash on them ? or is that a set amount
Thats all you get. I read there are some special circumstances, like if they are on a heist or something maybe, but usually you get 100 for a kill.
If the player you kill has no money on him/her then you only get $100. If they are holding money after a mission, selling a car, or robbing a store then they drop more money.
95% of the time everyone is gonna deposit their money before you have a chance to kill them so its usually always only gonna be $100. Easier to get money from missions, selling cars, or robbing stores.
online mode gives you the feeling of being a low level thug trying to make money, where as single player gives you the "that sure escalated quickly" feeling. both are fun I think.

How much more? Whats the most you have seen dropped? I have never seen anyone get more than $200 dropped and they all had lots of money and many were finishing a mission without it being in the bank. One guy was trying to figure out a way to let his friend steal his money. cant do it.
If you want to exploit a glitch for easy money in GTA Online this one has not been patched and is very easy to do. I assume it will be patched soon. The video is for the 360 version but it works exactly the same on PS3.
Pretty much lets your rob the same store every 40 to 50 seconds. Resets the store and your wanted level after robbing a store. If you drive to the store out of town he mentions in the video I have yet to run into any cops before I do the exploit. So its pretty easy. Got 10 grand in around 10 minutes. Tomorrow im probably gonna do this for an hour when I get time.

Also the latest update they released like 2 days ago supposedly fixes the whole characters and properties being randomly deleted bug. So ill probably buy a apartment now that I don't have to worry about it getting deleted. I have gotten up to 130 grand just by the normal doing a lot of missions and selling cars here and there.
