Thank goodness, GL Mike Brown, seriously donate a lot of that money you made in the NBA please for a good cause.
BTW, PJ cancelled a conference in Chicago hmmm..

I just can't believe that it's FINALLY happened! I knew Laker brass had the balls to fire him if things continue as it has, but I didn't expect him to be fired THIS soon!
Best of luck to Mike though. Hated his coaching, but he seems like a good guy. |

I wake up to this!!!
Edited: to reflect what I read in that other thread about Jerry Buss giving the order to fire Mike Brown.
Btw, Jim Buss is now among my favorite Buss family members, but only if Jim did give the order.
Holy (bleep), Kobe and Dwight musta really pushed for this hardcore!

Dr. Jerry Buss made the Final call
And Kobe or Dwight had no input..Mitch informed all the players of the firing |

Holy (bleep).
That shows that Jerry Buss is really serious about this stuff.
Don't mess with Doc Buss. |

even worse than in the princeton, IMO. all the dribble entries and back cuts can at least benefit scoring guards (as seen in cleveland this year).
the best proven coach out there is SVG, hate to say... |

i find it hard to believe that kobe had no say in the decision, and i truly don't mean that to denigrate him in any way. the steven a. smith comments yesterday (kobe's current jim gray) were an obvious portent: brown had lost the team captain.
good riddance |

We don't have to run the Triangle the same way we did when we had Fish..there are many ways to run the Triangle and still play to Nash's strengths..
And I'm sure Phil is smart enough to let Nash run Pick and Roll often.. |

Spoke to Ms Cleo, she said PJ is on the way to Los Angeles to coach the Lakers. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Very bold move by the Lakers organization and it makes me proud to be a fan of such a great organization.
It obviously wasn't working and wasn't ever going to work on a championship level with Mike Brown. Unlike a team like the San Diego Chargers, the Lakers are not going to mire in mediocrity for years and years with the wrong coach because they play to win instead of operating out of fear like the Chargers do. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Damn right. PJ is not some stubborn old man. He's a smart, stubborn old man who values winning enough to figure out the best possible approach to provide the best opportunity for it to happen.
The only issue I'd have with PJ is the fact that the team wants D12 to re-sign for a long-term max deal, and that long-term might be more than the old coach can handle. That, and he'd have the org over a barrel if he opts to sign for 1 yr. With D12 a free agent, you want to talk coaching leverage? |

Even if the Tri renders Nash useless, Kobe, Gasol and Howard would destroy the league under Phil. |
