The fans at Staples need to boo the hell out of him. He needs to stop blaming the players and take the blame himself...maybe then we'd have a shred of respect for him. _________________ Mikan Chamberlain Jabbar O'Neal Gasol |

Looking back at this thread now, it seems many ppl had it right. I am proud to be a co-member of this board. Seemed majority were right, they hated the move and said so immediately.
Good job Laker fans.
Bad job Lakers FO. |

A previous page back, I had my doubts after his tenure in NY. Some pointed out that it was probably all Carmelo, so I kept an open mind to see how MDA's system could fit the existing personnel.
If the four Hall of Famers were a 19th century fresco, MDA would be that elderly woman who destroyed it with restoration techniques. http://i.imgur.com/JywGB.jpg
Props to the LGers who called it from the start.

I think Mason and Ireland are the only two people on the planet who thought this was a good hire. _________________ Mikan Chamberlain Jabbar O'Neal Gasol |

All the other teams just laughed at the Lakers because they know we aint winning anything. A year from now, our team is going to implode. No Howard, No Nash. No Kobe. |

Lakers may use the amnesty clause for all the phony supporters.
No wonder, some of them have been witch-hunting for Kobe for all the mess. _________________ Kobe's Top 5 Dunks, 81 points, MJ last gm @Staples |

I still understand some of the thinking of the FO…wanting to move to a different "brand" of basketball, thinking Nash and Howard would do well in the P n R and so on, so I still don't think it was a crazy choice by the FO,it still doesn't excuse the choice of PJ if you could have gotten Phil, any team should take him over any other coach in the NBA, as he is the greatest coach in NBA history. My guess MDA sold them on a vision that he couldn't deliver on…using Pau, they probably looked at NYK and he said I didn't have Nash look at my team when I had Nash, he probably banked a lot on that…..it's clear both Nash and Kobe would benefit from pounding the ball inside to Howard and running a lot of the O through Gasol in a Point Forward type of position….it just didn't work…..PJ is the only coach, besides Pop who can handle this team as constituted, his system will work well with our size advantage, Nash would lose out on the traditional PG role, but it hasn't been that stellar anyway, but he would still be involved through his strong shooting and ability to make a good pass, triangle still requires good ball movement after all….I think even B-shaw could get this team going in a positive direction…by all accounts players have always like and respected B-shaw as a player and an assistant….hopefully the FO can swallow their pride and unfortunately dollars and make the call |

While MAJORITY see the writing on the wall, are reading the fine print etc...
Ireland still thinks this can be turned around. |

I'll give it some time. I really wanted Phil though.
I guess D'Antoni sold the Buss family on bringing back Showtime?
Last time it was DVDs, now it was bringing back Showtime. |

I dunno, man. When they signed Mike Brown, Kobe found about it in the news.
I really hope that our pieces fit together well and we don't move away from our strengths as a team. |
