That Hornet/Clipper game was pretty crazy. Both teams were raining threes most of the game, but in the end, the Clippers ran out of gas from range.
The game showed why the Clippers, as currently constructed, have little chance to make it out of the West: their post game is terrible. Blake tried to barrel his way to the basket for layups or a foul call, but because the defense played him for that, he failed over and over. DeAndre is DeAndre. This problem doesn't change when Billups and Gramp Hill come back either.
So what you have left is a poor man's version of the perimeter shooting Thunder with a deeper bench, but not better starters (where it counts the most). Heh, and certainly not a better coach. |
