Okay that was a joke.

But what this is about, is that Darius Morris is our best PG defender. He is constant on-ball pressure and he has literally shut down or trapped not only Kemba in last game but several opponents in multiple games.

He might be inconsistent on offense, but his defense is very good.

Think of the defensive lineups, with Morris, Bryant, World Peace, Healthy Pau, Dwight
Or small ball, Morris, Meeks, Bryant, World Peace, Dwight

You can even mix them up depending on length or speed.

Darius Morris deserves some more recognition.

Yeah his defense helped turn it around in the 3rd. Also being a threat to drive is huge..

lmao at him being DPOY.

And I think his shot, at least from 3, is pretty consistent. I completely agree, and I'm definitely leaning towards thinking he should be the back up PG when Nash returns.

He's still got a lot to learn on the offense. Unlike Blake or Fisher of the past, he gets to the rim like a breeze. Unfortunately he also gets there via a charge or being outta control.

I think his vision is great, he WANTS to pass to you, even if you suck. That means something to players woh want to build some confidence back.

His defense by far, is the BEST of all the point guards. When Nash returns, he should always be the go-to crunch defender when Nash is resting. BTW, Morris is a 44% 3pt shooter. Team needs to realize that.

should be a helpful asset when nash returns. with nash out kobe can be pg when nash is in he handles it. duhon cannot guard his shadow so he may be the odd man out

Kobe just gave Morris and Meeks props for their defense when asked what keyed the big Laker run to come back and win tonight's game.

He might not be DPOY, but he helped the Lakers tonight.

I agree 100%, but i expect his 3% to drop significantly as the sample size is rather small.

When he makes mistakes he looks bad and takes some heat, but i could easily see him being the 2nd pest PG on this squad right now. Blake is a steadier player...but again like Duhon has already hit their ceiling. Morris is definitely valuable to this team.

I will shamelessly pat myself on the back here, i called for Morris in the game thread when we were getting torched. Dantoni heard me screaming and it worked. We pretty much shut down Kemba in the 2nd half. He made a couple tough shots in the 4th, but for the most part was nullified.

Cats PGs still had a field day based on the box. DMo and Duhon brought back shades of horrid d from Fish and Farmar.

Exactly, your post would be correct if you edit out the DMo part. He was a BIG part of the reason we won this game.

Pretty much looks like you didnt see the game.

Kemba is not a rookie, and if you watch the game again you will see that Morris slowed him down during the comeback when we needed it most.

Two stops on Kemba Walker. He forced two 24 second shot clock violations.

I just heard Kobe on the interview praising Morris n Meeks for the D. Not to mention Kobe did a sweet pass to Morris which did a huge momentum switch.

He definitely played good D tonight. Duhon was getting scored on everytime as usual and should not have been out there past the 1st quarter. As long as Morris can hit the 3 ball at a decent rate and continues playing hard D he should be our back up PG when Nash is back.

Yeah that was good to hear, the kind of thing a good LEADER does. Credits his guys. Even for a pro, when a guy who is a lock for the HoF and in the discussion for GOAT gives you props....that sends your confidence sky high.

Im liking the chemistry between Kobe/Meeks/Morris. They all found each other tonight. You can tell Kobe has confidence in them too. He seems willing to hit these guys with passes, not just willing but actually looks for them. Ive seen Kobe hit Morris for the 3 ball quite a few times now in the corner. Given the amount of playing time Morris has had, thats saying something.
