Looks like an AT4. Single use, disposable weapon. How much did the city pay?

That's a huge turnout, but probably not even a drop in the bucket of what's out there.

Let me give you guys the inside scoop of the LA Gun Buyback. From what was reported by KFI AM640 that I listen to everyday was the gift cards that people received from their exchange was illegal. Ralph's illegally used their employee's vacation hours in exchange for gift cards for the gun buyback. It was reported that most of the guns turned in were from people who had them for sentimental reasons and did not want them around.

I have to wonder how many of these guns being turned in were stolen or used in crimes. I guess we'll never know because the program was anonymous. They made quite a show of holding up the ARs for the cameras but most of the ones in the background looked like .22s and old hunting rifles that were probably worth close to that $100. I suppose there are people who bought an AR, got tired of it and just wanted to get rid of it. Good for them.

However, if every major U.S. city in every U.S. state had one of these programs, it still wouldn't come close to the number of ARs and AKs that have been sold in the last two weeks after the POTUS and the Democrats started shouting "weapons ban". I was at Turner's Outdoorsman a few days ago and a salesman told me they had sold out their entire inventory of over 3,000 ARs and AKs and half their handguns in 10 days. That's just one So Cal retail chain. I also read that the NRA was getting something like 8,000 new members per day.

That's why the gun industry refers to President Obama as the 2012 Gun Salesman of the Year.

Yah it's insane. The manufacturer stocks went up under Obama too. In order for hard gun control to pass going to need more tragedys unfortunately. People love their guns.

As a side note started to watch Sons of Guns a tv show about custom guns, they show some really cool gun mods.

Hell, I was tempted to buy a few extra mags for my AR even though I hadn't fired mine in some time. That they were pretty much sold out closed the door anyways.

Funny, conservatives have put themselves in a logical and real "arms race".

People want their 2nd amendment right protected in order to protect themselves from the gov't, yet they also love tons of spending on the military.

Feinstein has already said if she could take all weapons she would. Sorry Libs this is nothing but a case of using a tragedy to advance their agenda. Criminals don't follow laws or bans.

You make a good point when you just call out a group of people as "libs."

OK, so criminals won't follow laws, so let's follow up with anarchy and dispose of all laws.

Drunk drivers won't follow laws. So let's get rid of stop lights, lanes, speed limits.

How about enforcing the existing gun laws?

BTW Newtown schools now have armed officers. The liberal press just doesn't cover it. Gun free zones are open invitations to killers.....

My local SC schools have had an on duty police officer since my kids were little. I assumed this was in place everywhere. Sadly it isn't...

Actually, Harry Reid is a BIG FACTOR why the gun laws offered by Feinstein won't pass.

BTW - he's a Democrat

You are right. He is worried about 2014 and some of his Senators up for election. Reid, Feinstein & Pelosi are the poster children for term limits.
