I keep seeing all these stories about Durant sitting out the last game, so Carmelo is winning the scoring title this year.
Didn't Kobe only need 38 points in the final game last season to beat KD for the scoring title, but he sat out? I don't recall seeing any stories last year about Kobe conceding going for it - only that Durant won the scoring title.
But with several stories I'm seeing now, it's followed by comments like, "I bet if it were Kobe in Durant's place, he'd go for it." Made me laugh, considering what I remember as being the reality of how it went down last season.
Am I remembering this wrong? Hopefully this wasn't posted already. If it was, I claim n00bage. |

Yea Durant is doing the same thing Kobe is doing last year, except Kobe needed lesser points then wat Durant needs.
Its all about media and of course they all hate Kobe.. It is wat it is. |

It was hilarious how much cowheard got owned today on his own show talking about how much he loves Durant because he's somehow "above it all" and let Melo win ( never said a word about Kobe last year or during this segment ) and then his assistant chimes in and says "kD needs 70 points to beat Carmelo tonight" and cowheards just like "oh...." _________________ "Bryant has been the second best player in the NBA for over a decade, but the number 1 player changes every other year. Kobe sat out. Kobe should've gone for it but he went PC... people were saying winning the championship was more important bullcrap, etc... like our championship season was going to be determined by Kobe sitting out or suiting up for one game. Yep it was covered very well and he was praised for choosing the playoffs over an individual regular season award. This thread is crazy. |

I'm still pissed he didn't go for it. That 3rd scoring title would look great on his résumé. |

like I said, playing one game and going for 38 won't ruin any championship aspiration. I don't get how NOT playing a regular season game affects winning a championship. the scoring title was there for the taking, Kobe should've gone for it. _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. I was asking a legit question, as I honestly don't recall any heavy coverage of Kobe sitting last year. God forbid I ask a question.
It's not like I start "crazy" threads all the time. I never claimed there weren't any stories - just that I didn't recall any.
Not to mention I brought up some people talking about how Kobe would go for it if he was in the same position as Durant (which he was last year and didn't go for it).
Sorry for wasting your time. Geez. Some people are so quick to **** on someone for asking a question.
EDIT: BTW - 2 of those 3 links are LA sites. Only one seems to be "national". The current story is on the main ESPN NBA page as a top headline. |

It's ok, I wasn't trying to jump on you so I apologize if it came out wrong. The issue was pretty well covered last year. |

Kobe & Durant both made the right decision by putting the team (chance that they get hurt) above themselves. |
