That's more telling of the fact that you can't play Lebron up close since 99% of the time he'll blow right by you for a lay-up/And 1 situation. Every coach tells their players to Lebron shoot a J, it's because he's probably the most dangerous driver of all time.

Yeah I'd spam a smilie to if I was way in over my head for an argument.

That would be JR Smith.

Kobe doesn't fold under pressure, he's lives for it.

Lebron is still the best overall player in the game, but tonight's game and the last 3 are proof that he's not a clutch player or pressure performer. I wonder what excuses people will pull if the Heat lose this series to still claim that Lebron is still as great as MJ and a better closer than Kobe.

Also proves that he's not a top 3 scorer in the league. Sometimes a team needs that more than the best overall player. Which is why it's ok to value another player more than Lebron

Yeaa I was right

really... best driver of all time.... no stop it. Dude can't handle the rock. He just freight trains the paint. Out of control 40%+ of the time.

Oh and tonight he was bailed out by Leonard, Ray Allen, and the punkass refs cumulatively and in that order.

Dude should be called the big OVERRATED.

32 points and a triple double in the Finals is not good? I agree he was bailed out but cmon man, don't be so insecure.

Who got his ball stripped by Danny Green in the NBA Final?

Not Jordan nor Kobe.

Yet he brought Miami back into the game in the first place, I agree he effed up by time but come on, half of the people here are acting as if they are on their periods. (no offense to any ladies on the site)

Quick question: Hakeem had more moves than Shaq, would you say he's more dangerous down there?

There is no denying James's greatness, but I've never seen a player as great as him so unsure of himself in late game situations on the nba's biggest stage: nba finals.

Really bro?

Yeah bro. It's really simple...

Lebron is in his 10th yr and still doesn't have a patent shot or signature move that gets him a bucket.

I'm sorry but bulldozing your defender and running him over repeatedly on to the way to the hoop IS a signature move. If the defender touches you, it's a foul. Lebron is such a basketball genius. How can you deny him his brilliance? Sit back and enjoy foot...basketball at its finest!

Lebron didn't have the best game ever, but if Kobe had a 32 point triple double, I'm sure all I would see are Kobe > Jordan threads...

So much hate. If you are going to use examples to say that Kobe > Lebron, this game may not be the best example...stick to the 5 rings > 1 argument - at least that has some merit.

All I haft to say is look how people would guard Kobe compared to Lebron.
Everyone forgot about Kobe in his prime dude would eat teams alive. Triple teams would be like fruit snacks to him.

Sure Kobe was a better and more clutch player that Lebron in his prime. But reality is Kobe will not be the same when he comes back. He will be a spot up shooter that will have to rely on foot work for space. The days of attacking the rim and dunking on people are completely over.

I think the point of this thread originally was to develop some conversation around recognition that LeBron dominates play right now, certainly far more than Kobe's play in 2012-2013. Kobe's prime period is in the past, probably by several seasons - no question. He can still score heaps much of the time, but he is slowed and not an elite defender or elite athlete today. He is now recovering from a career-threatening, severe leg injury, and it's smart to recognize that he is essentially an unknown quantity going into next season at age 35, when November rolls around. He's an unusual guy for sure, and he may be an incredible talent again, but his rehab period suggests that he'll return in a lesser form rather than in a renewed version.

In your vernacular, these "fruit snacks" he consumes today no longer comprise championship-level meals. In 2012-2013 he became a reduced version of his old self and unfortunately he now costs more $$$ than he ever has before, and he may deliver less than ever.

I call BS and the stats do as well. Pre-Achilles injury, in 2012-2013, he was having the best stats OF HIS ENTIRE CAREER.

Now granted, he is not as athletically dominating as in his younger years, but his skill has filled the gaps.... at least up until the injury.

If the Heat lost, this game would have remembered LeChoke for these sequences. Instead, this game is remembered about Ginobili and his 8 TO's, -21 time on the court.

17 pages smh. Lebron has been the best player in the NBA the past 3 seasons and it's not even close. Kobe couldn't even get his team past the 2nd round of the playoffs last 3 seasons. Lebron has led his team to the NBA finals the last 3 seasons. Kobe isn't even 2nd best player in the NBA now. Kevin Durant is 2nd.

Lebron is the best, there really isn't a question about it IMO. Skill wise am I impressed? Not really. But he gets it done with his sheer size and speed attacking the basket.

I do have to say though coming to the finals out of east vs west is not a comparison at all.
