Watching the Spurs series, Kawhi is the perfect roleplayer SF for us. Great defense, good endurance/hustle, can space the floor and even create his own shot, and while he had some misses, he in general doesn't seem afraid of the big moment. He is a California kid, born and raised. Really wish he was in the P&G.

Can Earl Clark be our Kawhi Leonard? Earl is taller and slower footed, but I still see Earl as more of a 3 than a 4. Can Earl guard quick SF's? I'm not so sure.

Dang, really wish our scouts had the insight to trade for this kid. I bet Chaz and Jesse Buss were busy scouting girls volleyball games instead of noticing this kid in their backyard...props to the Spurs FO again...

He's a 4 not a 3. That said Clark is an even tougher matchup for LeBron to face. He's longer than LeBron, he's already strong, and he's quick. Kawhi gave LeBron plenty of room to shoot the J. Clark because of his length can still get his hand up. Watch the game against Miami in Miami from this year, Clark was a tough matchup for LeBron. If L.A. can get an athletic, lengthy SF to add to that it'll be very very difficult for Wade-LeBron to get the kind of shots they were getting against SA.

You do have to wonder how Laker scouts overlooked players like Leonard or PG24 who played right there in Southern California...

Not even close, IMO.

Leonard is on the path to being a solid role player and B option for a team, imo.

Another overrated role player. I'm talking offensively here, I assume the majority believes he's the spurs future go-to guy... He's not, he hasn't even avg 15ppg let alone 20. He'll be a solid role player, his max potential is where luol deng is right now. Luol is a lot more complete offensively than Leonard, and that's why he almost avg 20ppg.

Earl Clark at the 4 has the same ceiling as Leonard at the 3. Earl almost avg a double double in his breakout stretch. Almost 10boards while playing half of his minutes on the wing, with mwp guarding 4s. That's impressive.

Leonard seems to be getting underrated...especially after the displays he had in the finals.

It's his 3 point shot that will make or break him. If he becomes a good stretch 4 that can D up guys like LeBron while completely cutting off the P and R then L.A. is in good shape.

A consistent jumper alone, plus his athletic ability will make him a very solid role player - 10 and 10 guy.
IMO, improving his ability to take slower PFs off the dribble will determine where he "max's out".
If people are counting on Leonard to improve his ball handling to the point to avg 20+,then there's no reason why they should rule out Earl being the next Lamar Odom.
Both will have to improve greatly, specifically off the bounce ,as will Chandler Parsons.

I'm excited to see the improvements clark makes in his game. his jumper seems solid.. reliable.. maybe some more post moves? his slashing game is really decent.. which works well for D'antoni and is very serviceable
