I predict Jamaal Franklin will be a better NBA player than Shabazz. I admit to possible bias as a SDSU alum. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

i would like us to trade down to try to get shabazz. he is being undervalued right now due to age/character issues but he absolutely has top 5 potential. if he falls outside the lottery we should do what we can to nab him. he would solidify our 3 spot for years to come. _________________ We only celebrate championships.

Black hole.
I think the homeless man's Carmelo comparison is spot on. He has a similar mindset, but only a tiny fraction of the talent and skillset. The two things I will give him credit for are that he does have a pretty good motor and isn't afraid of taking the last shot. _________________ Jeffs

He will have to focus on more than just scoring if he wants to be great in the NBA _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Whatever, pow, three. I love the Zen, though." |

He might be able to carve out a Michael Beasley type career. I don't see him as an impact player in the NBA, I could be wrong of course. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Reminds me of Adrian Dantley physically, skill-wise and in terms of overall athletic limits. Young AD was a maniacal ball hogs too, so there's that. Problem is, I can't picture even AD himself as a young man today replicating anything close to his own successes in today's NBA. There's no NBA guys who are 6-5 215 sturdy small forwards who can't jump much or play defense.
However Shabazz has this feel for scoring that is pretty rare. He will probably play for quite a while however if his three point shooting remains reliable. I sense a 10,000 NBA career minute ceiling unless he grows a left hand AND learns to pass to someone occasionally. Upside is JR Smith, but more likely he's to show a more steady maturity and growth a la Quincy Pondexter. |

A lot of talk about him falling out of the lottery and possibly even into the early 20s. |

He isn't as good as advertised and it showed in college.
Not really that athletic as people though and doesn't do much other than scoring.
So not surprised to see him fall. |
