A lot of these players have a lot to prove next year, but there's a ton of talent. I'm very curious about Wiggins' teammates Simeon and Embiid, but it's pretty uncertain whether they'll declare next year.
I'm really hoping Dante Exum declares next year, he's my favorite player after Wiggins, I think he has huge upside and his shot is getting better.
Mario Hezonja is probably going to be in the draft next year. He's the current top international prospect, so he deserves to be mentioned.
You never know how a draft is going to turn out until it starts getting closer to it, the 2013 draft didn't look that bad a year ago.

I don't understand the hype of Andrew Harrison. He's a power PG, but an average athlete.
Marcus Smart is a power PG, but a great athlete.
Jabari Parker may need to add strength and become a PF, because he's lacking in SF quickness/speed and is up to 240lbs.
Julius Randle is like Terrence Jones, but with narrowminded focus and a lot more strength. He's more beastly on the block, yet, has developing triple threat high post skills.

Yep Dante Exum i predict will be the biggest riser up the list if he does declare for the draft (which if he is going top 5 he would be crazy not to)

Looks like a young Kobe. Killer first step. Blows by opponents with ease (Barbosa speed)
Fearless and attacks the rim ( needs to work on his vertical). Rises to the ocassion during big games. If we can't get Wiggins, Exum might be the surprise player in this next draft.
Jabari has put on weight. he may be growing into a PF. I haven't watched tape on Randle, but the guy who seems to have the nastiest attitude and relentless motor is Gordon. he may not be big enough to dominate at the NBA level, but te comparison to Griffin is very apt. But he's young for his graduating class, so its possible that he can grow a bit yet.
There are some really exciting young players. Wiggins is like the thoroughbred of the bunch. But in order to capitalize on his physical ability he needs to play with more of an edge. IIRC, there have been rumblings that sometimes he tends to coast. Hopefully, it's just a matter of a young guy being tired participating in the elite-level All-star camps which serve as nothing but huge hype factories. I think his freshman year at Kansas will be the bell-weather. I hope to see him dominate because he looks like a special talent.

I agree and with Kobe you dont really need a prototypical PG all you need is a guy who can penetrate the rim and shoot the 3, so when Kobe/Melo passes the PG the ball he knows how to create his own shot and score or create for others. In fact you can even do this lineup:
This might even be better, because Melo is at his optimal position in PF, Exum is utilized as a scorer, Nash is utilized as a spot up shooter and Gasol gets the paint mainly to himself. I think Kobe can man the SF position.
In 2015, the Lakers pursue and acquire Kevin Love, then you slide Melo over to the SF position, Exum over to the PG position taking over for Steve Nash, Kobe slides back to SG, and whoever we get a C starts.

I have a feeling Wiggins may be like John Wall, remember Wall received all this hype coming out of HS and when he got to Kentucky he was mostly dominant but he also had some games where he just disappeared. Then when Wall got to the NBA he played well but not up to his full potential, it took Wall about 2 years until he started playing like the superstar he can be.

I know. But he seems to have the kind of frame that puts on weight easily. I'm not knocking the guy; just making an observation. I love his court vision.
I don't post that much but you guys haven't mentioned the next Kobe in my eyes.... which is James Young from Kentucky. NBA scouts have already touted him the best player on this loaded team. He is an extremely good shooter (Lefty) and is super athletic.

Those expectations are awfully lofty for "the next Kobe". Lefty shooter without PG dribbles? Can't change direction twice in a drive? Doesn't attack from the 3pt line or midrange all the way to the cup at the HS level?

I have already went to a UK practice and he can shoot the rock and has been working on his mid range and driving more consistently to the hoop. Kid will be great
