Quote: | Update Broussard on SN:
RE: If Lakers want LeBron:
- No doubt LeBron like other free agents will definitely take a hard look at the Lakers.
- LeBron has to be sold that he could win now, not have to wait or start over.
- If the Lakers had someone like a Phil Jackson in the organization making a pitch, it may change the way LeBron sways, much like Pat Riley did for Miami.

Quote: | Brief summary by Chris Broussard on The Herd:
- Lakers 2014 plan is to get LeBron... but...
- My intel says Lakers are 3rd in LeBron's likeliest destination in 2014.
- A longshot for Lakers to land LeBron.
- For Lakers fans wanting Dwight gone and having all this cap space, just look at Dallas = Great owner, no state tax, can't land a superstar.
- With no Dwight, LeBron doesn't want to have to "start over again" if he goes to the Lakers.
- LeBron doesn't want his image to look like a mercenary going from team to team on his 3rd franchise.
- LeBron has a similar kind of happy personality like Dwight.
- You bet LeBron was keeping an eye on how the Lakers handled the Dwight situation. |

I think most think this. It's probably a distant 3rd though. Maybe Mitch can sell him on a "Save the Lakers" pitch. I've never been his biggest fan, but he's the best right now and getting him is the best way to save the franchise. |

i don't think Dwight and LeBron are that tight. remember when the '09 Magic eliminated LeBron's Cavs, he didn't even stick around to congrat Dwight. therefore not having Dwight on this team should have no affect on our chance to get LeBron. |

Fine by me; these happy-go-lucky 'franchise' players aren't my cup of tea. Maybe it's due to being a Kobe fan for too long, but it's hard to respect guys that lack that killer instinct. Not saying you can't be nice, like Nash or Gasol, but give it your all and show that you give a **** about winning. _________________ 0.4 |

I'd cheer for just about any player that makes their way to LA, but I would really have a tough time with that d-bag Lebron. He's a great player but the way he carries himself, the things he's said in the media and the overall aura that is Lebron makes it extremely tough to root for him. |

Going back to Cleveland to try to win a ring with Kyrie would come damn close to erasing the whole "Decision" debacle. I would think that would be his first choice if D Wade's body continues to have it's increasingly normal late-season break down next year. I HIGHLY doubt we'd be able to get him. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

Looks like the Lakers are following the Mavericks plan and not by choice. Just hope it doesn't look the same a year from now. If you don't have the star player for a draw at least bring in the star coach. Maybe you could of had both with a different approach... |

Probably an accurate placement at this moment. Keep in mind though, the conventional wisdom back in 2010 was that Cleveland, Chicago, and New York had the best chances to land LeBron. Miami got him. _________________ 14-5-3-12 |

That's true. Gotta give props to Dan LeBatard though. He was saying on his radio show a year before that it would happen. |

When Lebron sees Melo coming here, he will surely reconsider his stance.
I still would much prefer Aldridge or Love in 2015. _________________

#IB4 we don't want LeBron to play here anyway.
Hate him, but Broussard's sources has been right about Dwight Howard all along... |
Whats up with the State Income Tax. Cali is expensive to live, buts its the best state to live in. Who wants to live in Texas. You pay a premium to live in a great city/state. I can sell my house today and move to Texas, pay cash and retire. I would not do that for the world. There are the hottest chicks here and real estate will sky rocket at some point. Also lets not forget the endorsement dollars you can make here, opposed to Houston.
As stated in my previous posts, the only way to land a big free agent (i.e. LeBald or Carmelo) is that KB24 needs to take a backseat. I love KB24 as much as the young fans on here that are myopic and do not understand business, but he cannot continue to be the first option. he cannot do what he use to do say 10 years ago. Kareem, Timothy Duncan did it. And I am not saying take a backseat with our current roster. I am saying once we land a big free agent. Why do u think Dunce12 left, cus he wanted to be the man, and he didn't want to play in the Pringles offense. But again Dunce12 is an overhyped player with no offensive skills. |

How many more times do we have to stop posting what Broussard says? If the whole Dwightmare saga didn't reveal anything other than the fact that Broussard has absolutely NO sources. |

It'd be awesome if Lebron came to LA, but can someone explain why on Earth he'd consider this? In 2014, Kobe will be 36, Nash will be 41. There's no other superstars left. In Miami he's got Wade and Bosh - much younger than Nash/Kobe. In all likelihood, the Lakers will be in massive rebuilding mode even w/ Lebron. |

Dwight was a fool to leave L.A. but the irony of the situation is that Dwight leaving may provide L.A. with a better team. One that has a garbage man/semi-off the cut post presence at C but at a far cheaper price. That allows you to get multiple players to surround Carmelo and Kobe with. |

Only way for Lebron, or anyone from around his draft year, to come here is if they have a handshake agreement with another star to team up here. None of those guys will be young anymore so a ring is even more important. In other words, we need a Lebron-Wade-Bosh scenario where a group of guys want to win a ring and they find a destination with the capspace to sign all of them. That would be us.
Also comparing Dallas to us as a favorable destination is laughable. |

Yea, but if he goes back, Dan Gilbert will be su*** his co**.
And the lowly Cleveland fans will be buying up his jersey. Yes that quick of a 360. That's the way it rolls my friend. |
