We shouldn't feel bad that the Rockets have a better chance to land Bledsoe/ or Rondo. any one can talk about anything on this forum... it's a Lakers/Basketball talk in general.

lol i was joking. was on phone so forgot to add a smiley...Sorry boss

they can have Bledsoe or Rondo. I don't care. When your base is Dwight Howard you are not winning anything in this league.

I doubt they even make playoffs this yr let alone win in the 1st round.

Chris Singleton signs w/ Pacers & Sacramento has waived Wayne Ellington.

Clips looking to add Hedo Turkoglu and Chris Douglas-Roberts.

They are looking to add both or just one?

CDR would be an interesting player for the Lakers. Curious why there seems to be no apparent interest by the FO.

The silence right now could be a good sign.... things heat up at any moment when nothing usually goes on.....

I think we might see a big trade go down soon.... but that doesn't mean much because the Lakers can't do anything major unless they involve a 3rd team.

Call me crazy, but the silence could also mean nothing is going on.

Cavs couldn't get Mozgov from the Nuggets so now they are apparently targeting J. MCGEE.
He's coming back from an injury but should be ready to go this season.
I wish our FO would put out feelers on McGEE too.

Wishing LA had an NFL team right now...
The Lakers always keep things quiet, and it's always the media and other athletes and agents trying to use the Lakers name to make their players more appealing to other teams.
I hope the Lakers are seriously considering Beasley and possibly either another PG or C to fill out the roster.

There is no trade coming. Silence means absolutely nothing. The only thing the lakers are considering at the moment is Beasley and maybe one more player. That's it. No trade, no Bledsoe, no Rondo. And that's the right thing to do.

I also think the silence means nothing. There doesn't always have to be something going on for the front office.

I sense the Lakers will make a big trade between now and 2025.

In McGee's defense, he hasn't been named Shaqtin a Fool MVP in over a year. I believe the new one is Perkins for 2014. I guess getting injured helped McGee in that regard. lol

Clearly our biggest priority is the Center position, and getting someone like McGee would resolve a lot problems for us, but there is virtually no news of how McGee is doing since fracturing his tibia. He just isn't very impressive, so we shouldn't give up any young talent to get him.

Nobody said give up young talent. We're talking about giving up Nash lol

oh. yeah. how could I forget the Nash turning into 7 ft center trade proposal. lol

Except the whole premise for this hypothetical was that Denver was sending a 1st with McGee to get rid of his contract. In that scenario a Nash for McGee swap makes a lot of sense. Denver gets to keep their pick and buyout Nash to save a ton of cash.

I know Kobee 2.0 is so charismatic that it is all but impossible to discuss the Lakers without discussing him, but let's try to stay on topic please.

The only way I see us getting Rondo is if a 3rd team were included as Boston needs a C.

Something like we get Rondo, Boston gets McGee and Houston's 1st, and Denver gets Nash and a 2nd round pick or two(from us or Boston).

If Denver is willing to move McGee for a package of Nash and a 1st. Why wouldn't the Lakers just acquire McGee instead of Rondo?

Wouldn't that fill a bigger Laker need for an athletic rim protecting Center?

This.

McGee isn't an expiring contract like Rondo and would hurt our cap space for 2015.

Gasol, Jordan, Hibbert, Asik, and Lopez are all better than McGee and will be free agents next summer.

Rondo could also help attract future free agents as he is one of the best passers in the NBA and players want to play with a PG that can get them the ball.

Why would it matter if Rondo is expiring if you are planning on keeping him?

The Lakers aren't going after Bledsoe or any other RFA, Lin is the starting PG. If he does well under Scott they will re-sign him to a reasonable contract, if not then they'll go after Rondo or Dragic in FA next year.

One thing for certain is that the FO will do everything they can to get Marc Gasol, he'll be the main target. The Knicks and Grizzlies will be the other suitors but the Knicks could still be bad again next year, giving us a better chance if the Lakers over achieve. This is another reason why it's crucial Randle has a good rookie year because some of his game resembles Randolph, this could be very appealing to Marc come FA.

Even if the Knicks are bad this year I still see them being ahead of us to nab marc. They can sell him on an in his prime carmelo, Phil Jackson, and playing in the east. Even if we overachieve I still don't see how we can beat that offer.

And Marc will ask Pau about his feelings on Phil vs Jim. Gasol is a smart, educated man, so I think we all know who he prefers.

Probably the team that paid his brother handsomely and helped him win 2 titles. Over the guy who punched his brother in the chest and challenged his manhood.
