His shooting will be sorely missed, but his defense, passing and ball handling wont be.

He was the best 3&d guy we had in the last 2 years.

His defense was poorer than what people generally speak about it. He improved and had a few nice sequences that stuck in peoples' minds. But the loss really is his shooting.

Perhaps the more important part of things is his general lack of professionalism. It's under appreciated but his influence on Russell (pre-video) wasn't good. Fine do a homie, not the right example as a co-worker and, due to his vetaeran status, role model. He also had a less than stellar impact on Jordan. He mix of Swaggy's behavior and Scott's seargant routine was like gasoline to a match. Both at fault but still.

You don't want to see what that looks like with a new deal.

Nick Young fielded interest from the Golden State Warriors, Oklahoma City Thunder and New Orleans Pelicans after free agency began at 9:01 pm PT on Friday, according to league sources familiar with the situation. Though the Lakers also contacted Young’s representatives during that time period, both the Lakers and Young have conflicting agendas that suggest the end of their four-year tenure together. 5 mins ago – via Los Angeles Daily News

$12 million one year deal. He'll actually get minutes in LA.

Who would've thought we'd be saying this?

But it's true. We need him, he gets to stay in LA, and we can pay him a ridiculous amount for one year. It's a win-win situation.

Defense? Worst defensive rating on the Lakers. His offense is nice but let's not go overboard that he played defense. Looks like he was trying on defense but wasn't really effective.

He played good D for like the first 5 games last year and the narrative stuck the rest of the season. Call it the "Porzingis effect"

Apparently the Porzingis effect can last several years.

I'm surprised the warriors need him, is he the Matt Barnes replacement? Seems like they have plenty of young wings to go along with Iggy and Livingstone in the backcourt. I would think the Warriors would be looking at a replacement for Pachulia and McGee.

Center is the position about which most GSW fans are concerned. My guess, however, is that the W's have an agreement to bring back JaVale or Zaza or both. Otherwise, I suspect that they would be using the MLE on a center.

Can never have too many shooters. And Swaggy shot the lights out last season.

Bruh...the warriors just got a lot better with swaggy. He's one of the best shooters in the NBA and he will provide a serious scoring threat coming off the bench when klay sits.
