Haven't heard much about him in FA. He must be in everyone's plan B and C. His talent can't overcome his immaturity. Around the league he probably still has the reputation of a headcase in the McGee and Blatche mold from their antics during their Wiz days.

With Meeks getting $6m, Young's market value is probably around $5m. With the hometown discount, he may still be looking for $3-$4m from the Lakers.

We can't afford to lose both Meeks and Swaggy. To me, Swaggy is a bit more valuable than Jodie because a) He can create his own offense and b) He's okay coming off the bench. He's our version of Jamaal Crawford.

I would've liked to have kept Jodie to play the D-Fish role alongside Kobe, but I think there are other players who can fill that role.

I'd pay no more than 4 mill and 2 years for this two-faced mercenary's services. He wants more than that go play for some loser team that needs a glorified selfish shooter. I just want guys that are perennial losers off this team, don't need that vibe nearby our new rookie.

We should have used that money for a carmelo billboard instead. Or how about a Jodie Meeks billboard too? /sarcasm

I'm not sure if he's selfish or if he simply can't do anything else but shoot off the dribble. When he was starting early in the season he did make an honest attempt at playing within MDA's offense and being a spot up/off the ball player. He just wasn't any good at it.

People here say they don't want Nick Young, they say he's not a winner.....

How is he any different than say, James Harden? You all say Harden doesn't play defense and is a ball hog....

Both can light it up and are nearly impossible to guard one on one.

Why wouldn't you want a scoring spark like that off your bench?

If you say he can't play within the offense, maybe the coaches he played for had crappy offenses?

Yeah he has to have the ball in his hand, do his dribble routine then shoot. A coach would have to give him the greenlight to shoot whenever to get him into his rhythm. I can see why Clippers with CP3 influence quickly replaced him with Jamal Crawford.

I want Nick Young back because he is the type of player that can be crucial to a championship team, call him a journeyman all you want, if you can score in this league, you will always have a job.

Lakers Sign Nick Young

EL SEGUNDO – The Los Angeles Lakers have signed guard Nick Young to a multi-year contract, it was announced today by General Manager Mitch Kupchak. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

“When Nick became a free agent in June, I expressed hope that we would be able to bring him back on a contract that was in the best interest of both the Lakers and himself, and I am proud to say we were able to do so,” said Kupchak. “Nick was a bright spot for us last season, and we are happy to retain such a skilled player who is committed to being a part of what we are building as a franchise.”
