Swaggy is way more important to our team than most realized. I remember all the outrage when we signed him this season. I was thrilled we got him for years for so cheap....but most were furious we signed him. He is Kobe like. Not as good as Kobe was at Swaggys age but Swaggy has an uplifting, happy personality which benefits the team, too.

he was already shooting lights out & creating his own shots in washington & thats why he has good value... but its gona take awhile to really get back in groove IMO

The Los Angeles Lakers are 2-0 this season with Nick Young in the lineup after starting the season 1-9 without him.

“I can’t take all of the credit. I can take some of it,” Young said. “It’s all about my swag. That’s a part of my repertoire.”

Young is averaging 16.5 points in 28.0 minutes over his first two games.

“I’m talking about how I just walk off. I leave a presence when I walk off. I’m like Michael Jackson, Prince, all them other guys.”

Legendary... Best possible thing to happen to the Lakers at this juncture.

Swaggy is a perfect #2 option

Kobe should get about 20FGA and score 20-25 PPG
Swaggy should get 12-15FGAs and Score 16-20 PPG
Lin needs to man up and get 10-12FGA 15 PPG with 6-9APG

Kobe #1 option when on the floor
Swaggy #1 option of bench Kobe sits #2 when Kobe in on the court
Lin #2 option with Kobe, #3 Option when all three are on the floor

Those should be the lakers 1st, 2nd and third options.
They need to have Hill and Boozer cut down on those long low percentage twos.

Ed Davis should be starting and be the 4th option at the rim with Dunks and put backs.

Hill and Boozer should be 5 and 6 and focus more on their defense

Wes Johnson should only shoot on kickout open threes.

If BS can get his team playing like this the playoffs are definitely possible.

Nick Young is a perfect 6th man on a good team. He is the number 2 option here by default, but still a 6th man because we need scoring from the bench.

The swag effect rubbed off on the Lakers. I think Nick Young's personality was what this team needed when they were wallowing in a sea of negativity and losses. He plays loose and has an air of confidence in his abilities.

Nor is he a playoff ingredient. He is good enough to stick you in perpetual mediocrity. But at least he has a fun and entertaining style.

I may be the only one, but in case I'm not, this explains as clear as mud where his nickname came from:

My guess for the p? Ask any teenage boy.

Seemed like a great playoff ingredient when he was the one single handedly pushing the Clippers past the Grizzly bears a few years ago in the playoffs

If that's where we end up by trying....I'm okay with it. Always have been.

So much so that the clippers didn't bother to keep him. Nor did the Washington wizards. But we got him on a minimum contract.

In the two games that Nick Young has been back, when he's shared the floor with Kobe, the Lakers have an OEff of 110.5 & a DEff of 85.6.

Young instantly makes the bench look respectable. I was looking forward to the close-out lineup of Lin-Young-Kobe-Hill-Davis, but maybe that lineup Scott trotted out last game for a bit, replacing Lin with Wes, might be ok too if we need more perimeter D.
