do we go and get someone like Kyrie? and before any of you say Young can't score 20ppg. Nick has already avg 17.4ppg on 44%fg while shooting 39% from 3pt. he's very capable.

If Young and Wes become near that I would still pursue Melo almost just as a lure to bring in Bron....

Bron and melo at the forward spots.
With Wes and Young backing melo/Bron and Kobe, nice 5 man rotation at the 2/3/4 spots...

Yeah because thinking a player can average 20 is as much of a stretch as saying he can average 50...your response was neither humorous nor did it add anything to the conversation.

On topic, I don't think nick will get enough shots to average 20 because he's a volume scorer. And even if he does, you still go after melo because he's the only realistic target. Kyrie will be a restricted agent, or else he would definitely be a better choice than Melo!

I don't think Lebron would ever be a laker.

I didn't know he was restricted but I rather younger talent and Melo body seems to be breaking down early.

You get a star if you can. Irving will be matched, but you never know maybe he takes the QO in his last year and cashes in the followng year. I'm trying to see a scenario of how Young scores 20ppg, but playing along and lets say he does...you still sign Melo if you can. "Worst" case scenario Melo and Young are big time scorers and Kobe shades slightly more toward the facilitator role...especially if Nash is stretched.

Let's hope you are wrong.

Perhaps if we get all we can from them, get 50+ wins, bring in Melo or Kyrie someway, somehow, Kobe Pau agree to pay cuts, PJAX comes aboard in a official manner, bron with all the Laker history and La's media hub will really have to look at this. Add in Dwades health and the Pacers and nets/Bulls possibly passing them this coming season, Bron will certainly have the lakers on his mind in some fashion...

I honestly NEVER want LeBron to be a Laker. I was telling my friend last night all the bandwagon fans would hitch a ride to LA. I would give em the middle finger!!!

Kyrie is not restricted until 2015. You're all confusing him with John Wall.

Young isnt stopping the pursuit of anyone.

Hopefully the Lakers find good players under 28 next offseason.

Why? Nick Young is 28 and Melo is 29. Don't see how going for a guy 1 year younger is better when you can nab a superstar. And yeah Kyrie is not coming, John Wall ain't coming. Our best shot at another superstar is in 2015 with Kevin Love.

Carmelo will be 30 or 31 years old, and entering the downside of his career. The Lakers need to build a team with more than a 3 year Window.

I'm hoping they can find a way to bring in a good player from the draft next summer, possibly a younger player like Evan Turner through free agency, and possibly K Love the year after. Younger guys with a bigger window to win and build around.

I'm not saying stop the pursuit of players but maybe change the players. I think Love is a way better option than Melo.

You get rid of Kobe, point blank. It's not like any free agents want to play with him anyway.

If Young becomes a 20ppg scorer:

1. I can see the Lakers offering him $6-8m a year to stay and be the 6th man of the year for the next 2-3 years.

2. Young will get bigger offers elsewhere.
