I'll check it out. Sounds like it is well made, but it sounds like it's one of those examples of making a good "documentary" without really delving into the real documentary part.
It's one thing to make something like "The Cove" which really went out of it's way to bring something tragic, sinister and relatively unknown to people's attention versus just looking at the headlines and discussing the same things that have come up in dozens or articles on a subject we all know about. |
There's certainly some emotion involved in it.
It's hard not to ignore the screams of an Orca mother while her baby is taken from her in Puget Sound. These are highly intelligent social creatures that raise their offspring in ways very similar to humans.
But the documentary presents a lot of indisputable facts....and further evidence that SeaWorld was/is actively involved in covering up the dangers and the abuses involved in Orca captivity. |

As a kid I loved the Bronx Zoo. Kids don't think beyond seeing a live gorilla, lion, tiger etc. As an adult I see sadness in the eyes of a captive.
I don't go to places that have animals on display for the enjoyment, entertainment of humans.
Rats and mice for medical research for some reason doesn't phase me, they're still a life. I guess it's because of the way I view mice and rats. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I don't see a lot of human benefit in zoos, at least not enough to justify captivity. |

On that same trip I took the girls to the LA Zoo. I've never seen a more miserable appearing collection of animals. |
Last time I went to the LA Zoo was on a field trip in 92. I remember a polar bear with a green tint on its back from algae and it would back in and out of it's cave enclosure repetitively. Looked plainly disturbed. |
These guys made it look so fun. |
Man, they made the energy crisis and the hostage situation look fun. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL
