The Fish that Saved Pittsburgh has a Kareem led Lakers pre-Magic against the Dr. J team.

In Eddie the lowly Knicks play a Vlade/NVE led team.

Bye.

The show Suits has made a few references - mostly to Kobe and Shaq.

Celtic Pride...CMB mentioned it, but it is such a guilty pleasure that it is worth another mention

Skipped all the way to the end of the thread thinking I might be the old-timer to mention this one. The Lakers played more or less the villains - or just the opponents, if you will - to the overachieving Pittsburgh team.

Recently found out Laker Mychal Thompson was in that film too. Bumped into MT at the TSC and someone brought that up, he was surprised that someone remembered.

Lucky you, bumping into MT.... In other words, "Pic or it didn't happen"

BTW, since I'm not from LA, would you mind clarifying what TSC is?

Titanic. No wait, that's just a metaphor for the current team.

TSC is the Toyota Sports Center which is the current Lakers practice facility in El Segundo and it doubles as the homecourt for the Lakers d-league team affiliate LA D-Fenders on game nights.

MT and his wife Julie were there a few Saturdays ago to watch their son Mychel play in the Warriors / D-Fenders game. Can't recall ever walking up to a player or celeb at a game since I understand they want some family time, but on this particular night a fellow fan insisted that there was someone he wanted me to meet. Not knowing who it was, when I got there it was none other than MT. He and wife were incredibly kind and friendly, sure appreciate how gracious they were with their time. Briefly chatted about the Lakers, Blazers in the 70s, The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh, but didn't get around to the documentary "The Trailblazer" which will be another topic for another day.

While I didn't get a chance to take a pic, I can tell you for sure that it was not Jack.
