Ryan Kelly's deal is one year, non-guaranteed. Kelly's had foot problems in recent years, won't be ready for start of Lakers' camp. |

Not ready for training camp? 1 year, non--guaranteed deal?
Hmm....will he even make the final roster? |

/\ /\ /\ 1 year non-guarantee is great for the Lakers, but the not ready for training camp makes me think he will just be camp fodder.
Hope he sticks, I like his game in the context of MDA.
Good luck R.Kelly, I will be pulling for him!!! _________________ Magic*Kobe*LBJ*AD*Cap |

I am a bit worried that his foot is still not ready for play in October. I was looking forward to seeing him play in training camp. |

As they say in show biz, break a leg Kelly...humm, poor, choice of words...
Seriously though, I hope everyone is as healthy as can be, for them to compete for the open spots...

How can he be camp fodder if he's not playing?
He's going to be the tallest towel boy in the history of the NBA. |

Not ready for training camp? Seriously? They only play 30 games in a college season. To have foot problems already is not a good sign at all. |

Too bad about the foot. We need outside shooters; but even when he's healthy does Kelly have any other dimensions to his game that are anywhere close to NBA-level? I'll be pretty surprised if he makes the roster unless his foot somehow heals in time for him to prove something in preseason. |

I feel very good about Ryan Kelly if his darned foot heals. Waiting and hoping it's soon. I don't think they would've given him a contract if it wasn't looking like it will in time.
I can't wait for Lakers basketball! It's felt like a year off!! |

I can hear it already......
Steve Nash pass to Ryan Kelly....bang!!! 2009 Mcdonalds All American 3 point champion.
The second coming of Troy Murphy (with better handles).
Or maybe a combination of Pau Gasol/ Dirk Nowitzki.
This guy is the steal of the draft. He could be deadly in this MDA offense. |

I'm hoping this kid is a surprise and that his foot injury days are over with so he can play some basketball. He does look like a young Dirk on the floor, hopefully he will become a fan favorite because of his production on the floor...
All in all keeping expectations realistic, he might be suited for the D-League, but we'll see? |

From CBS Sports.com Scouting report
At times, Kelly looked like the best player on a talented Duke team, with his ability to make shots from the perimeter and create matchup problems with his 6-foot-11 size. However, he suffered various foot injuries during his final couple of years at Duke, hurting it before the 2012 NCAA tournament ??? and then missing 13 games last year after reaggravating it. Kelly underwent surgery in April on his right foot, his second surgery in the last year or so. -- Jeff Borzello
After watching some highlight video Kelly is very good off the dribble to go along with his high percentage from distance, would love to see this guy get healthy, not a high flyer but he can play, very competitive and has a high B-Ball IQ, you cannot teach that. _________________ .....
