Sometimes when I report a post, I notice that after I reported it, the person already edited away his mistake, This is rare, but sometimes it happens.

The problem is then that I have reported a post that no longer needs to be reported, but the "Reported" icon is still there. Is there a way to un-report a post, so moderators don't have to get confused upon reading a report comment which does not match the edited post?

Yes. First learn to unring a bell, and then use the same technique.

You could PM one of us and let us know (preferably one who you think is around at the time). I always check reports first thing in the morning EST.

How about if you report to un-report. Make it known in the comment text.

e.g. I made a mistake in reporting describe post. It was corrected after I reported it. My bad

Unfort, it will say "Reported" so it probably won't be reportable.
