You are putting more value on talk over accomplishments. Its fine to disagree with his opinion, but for anyone to call themselves a Laker fan then say disgusting things about one of the greatest Lakers of all time makes me question intelligence and character.
Magic represented the Lakers with pride and honor on and off the court. He has earned a pass to have an opinion without his Laker fanbase saying disgusting things about him over it.

I'm not saying Magic Johnson was perfect in every aspect of his life. The bottom line is that this is a Lakers fan message board and when someone says something like "Magic licks Lebron's anus," someone is going to react. This time it was me.
I happen to think it is wrong to say something that disgusting about a Laker hero just because he sees greatness in Lebron and compliments him for it. If I'm the only one who sees it like this then I might be in the wrong place.

I think Magic partly tries to hate on the Lakers to show objectivity, but at the same time, he is also the biggest Laker fan, so he wants us to do well. I'm sure he is frustrated at some of the stuff he saw. Magic knows a lot of stuff we don't also, so who knows what kind of info he knows that isn't available to the general public.
Magic definitely doesn't need the money he gets from his analyst job - he already has enough money to last many lifetimes (assuming he doesn't live life like Antoine Walker and AI). He does the job for his love of basketball and while I sometimes understand the criticism of his analysis, I'm sad to see him leave. Hopefully he stays active in the NBA community in some way. Would love to see him join TWC, but I don't see it. Can you imagine Magic, big game James, and B Scott all on the show together? That would be awesome It isn't going to happen, but would be nice.

No, I'm putting all value on talk. He worked as an analyst and he's judged as one. If he played hockey, nobody would give him a pass for being a basketball legend, they'd judge him as a hockey player. Same here. I don't care what he did as a player, I love and respect and admire him for all he did, but when I talk about Magic as an analyst I judge him as one.

I was speaking in generalities and never made it personal to anyone. But for someone to go on a Laker fan site and say something like "Magic licks Lebron's anus" in any context and then be surprised when there is backlash shows questionable logic.
You need to watch this and educate yourself on how great Magic was
and the role he played in Laker greatness, then consider editing your post.
I just watched the video, I did not intend on watching the complete video after I saw that it was more than a few min. but I could not stop myself from enjoying the complete video. Chick and Magic were great together.
I am old and saw the Lakers of the eighties....but to watch Magic is like poetry in motion, no one that has ever played could do what Magic did. We can talk about all the so called great athletes of today, but what Magic could do is off the charts. Nobody could push the ball like Magic and still be under control and at 6'9", damm, I miss showtime. _________________ .....

I'll stay out of all the Magic bashing/worship. Going forward it gives me one more reason to turn the channel at halftime. Simmons and Burke care about nothing more than Boston sports like most people in that provincial city. They hate L.A. and everything it stands for, even if it is crawling ex-Bostonians who've fled here for the women, weather, or Hollywood.
When I see someone in a Redsox cap I look at them with contempt. They're 3 times as annoying as Yankee fans walking around L.A. and actually have the nerve to open bars that only feature Boston sports.
I have a friend who had a kid with this Boston chick and everytime the boy comes back from visiting the grandparents in New England he suffers from some sort of new brainwashing. Now the kid refuses to eat a Dodger Dog because the taught him to hate the Dodgers.
