I think he'll have 5 more this year alone.

Gotta remember that he wasn't always the only option for such shots,
while this year he's (generally) the only option at that point in the game.
He's also playing the best year of his career (or at least the only year
comparable to his 2002-2003 season).

I'll say by the end of next season's playoffs he has 28 or more.

I'm pretty SURE there was one against the Hornets, but earlier than 2002. Back before 2000 at least... hm...

Yeah, and remember that we're playing a lot of close games this season too. It equals way more opportunities for him to own the game.

This season maybe Kobe will surpass MJ, but I repeast again maybe. I'm sure there's gonna be many close games where Kobe will make clutch shots in crunchtime. To surpass MJ, Kobe needs only 6 game-winners. He can do it. Lakers have 44 games left, so it's reachable thing, cuz we'll play in playoffs too.

Hmm, not to kill everyon's buzz here... but a game winning shot is defined as a shot that puts the team ahead, and happens to be the last score of the game. I noticed a couple games here where that's not the case... Kobe may have fewer than 22 at this point.

Yeah, and I see some games that are absent from that list that I would consider clutch shot masterpieces. What about the game in Dallas earlier this year, with under a minute left, and Kobe launches a 35 footer under pressure that essentially wins the game. It may not have been, technically, the last score, but when it comes to clutch, you know that Mark Cuban knows exactly who beat his team.

True, there's no way to objectively measure "clutch shots". Basically, the only way I've seen it quantified is in "game winners". Where the player makes a shot that puts the team in the lead, and happens to be the last score of the game. So the Rockets game, where the lakers won by 3, that's when Kobe hit the big go-ahead shot over yao ming, and then the lakers made another 2 pts to seal the win. Same case with the clippers game earlier this year. With the cavs game this year, he made the shot to put the team up by 2, then lebron made 1 of 2 free throws to make the final score. Technically, those 3 games don't count.

I'm just pointing out the "official" way of measuring game winning shots. Kobe's hit a lot of game-tying shots at the buzzer as well, but unfortunately those are not counted.

^ Yes, game winners are just one side (and probably the most important) of being clutch. Game-tying shots sending the game to overtime (Kobe against Detroit, anyone?) should also be counted. Defense plays securing the win when the game is on the line (a steal or a rebound) should be counted too.

That's the reason because is so difficult to says who's more clutch - it's VERY HARD to track these stats. Not to mention that a game winner in regular season is nothing compared to a game winner in the playoffs.

I will never forget that game Lakers 105 - Blazers 104 (OT) when Kobe with his 3 pointers win the game, the first 3 pointer tied the game went to OT and his last shot was crazy...

Depends what you consider game winning, do those 28 Jordan game winners count Shots where his team didint have last posession? (Like Lakers X Cavs, technically, LeBron lost the game cuz he took the last shot)
