A's lost a talented slugger for a 2 month rental and everyone's gushing over it. What, were we supposed to kowtow to the Phillies demands over Hamels? Is there not such a thing called waivers? |
Yeah exactly. Phillies were the biggest failures at the deadline. They failed to move a single contract off their books because their GM is an idiot and demanded too many assets for huge old contracts. But we're the losers |
People are kinda short sighted when it comes to judging stuff like this. They don't think of the future, they just think of what you get or don't get at that given time.
If our 3 big prospects turn out to be stars, let's hear those people still call us losers.
Fact is, this team is good enough to win a championship as constructed if all the pieces come together. |
Not just that but there's always post-deadline waivers. Can always find a trade partner then.
Phillies blew it big time. They had great assets to dump in Utley, Byrd, Papelbon, Hamels, and Lee (I felt they should've taken it easy on him with his starts). _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif

Great job by Brewers giving Wainwright 6 ER's - his ERA is now 2.21 . |

I don't think AGon touched the plate.
Again, they walk Gonzo to get to Hanley. Dodgers lucky on the error.
When is Donnie gonna get his head out his ass and move HanRam down and Kemp up? I honestly can't stand our manager. _________________ The butter's hard and the eggs are chillin' in the dark.

Can't believe we're about to lose ground to the Gnats in a game we play against the CUBS. (bleep) you, Haren. Take him out, and cut his ass immediately. |

He did kind of dog it towards the end. Eff off, Haren.

Haren can't pitch for (bleep). Doesn't backup Turner on Kemp's throw. Can't handle AJ's throw. And (bleep) lollygags down the line. What a chump. _________________ The butter's hard and the eggs are chillin' in the dark.

LOL - Mattingly waits till Haren loads the bases up with one out, before he takes him out. What an idiot. |

We need to call a starter up from the minors and send Haren to the bullpen. Or, I wouldn't mind seeing Maholm start, honestly. He did pretty well the last time he started. |
