Best in thread content ever!
How rare is it that the title has more words than the post itself haha

Just joking bro. I feel you. I like him too. He may be a stiff, but his athleticism and defensive versatility are welcomed on this team.

He sorta reminds me of Ariza

They keep making him guard opposing PFs, and he does get overpowered. He looks like he would be a nightmare guarding SF, SG with his freakish athleticism and wingspan. Only question is does he have the lateral quickness to keep up with wing players.

Wes will hopefully come in handy against the Lebrons, KDs and Melos out there.

I've been surprised by Johnson's defense. He's been fantastic on defense. Looks like a steal of a pickup.

Williams offense isn't the best, right now, but his D is pretty good. When it comes to Wes I wasn't that impressed with him in the preseason, but he has really stepped it up lately. A good steal for us.

I've always liked Wesley Johnson.

However, I didn't like the reports of him playing the power forward spot initially.. but I can see where Mike D'Antoni is coming from. His length and athleticism will bother some bigs. He'll get abused against the Zach Randolph and David Lee's of the NBA.. but coming off the bench he likely won't see too much of that.

I'm also loving his help defense and rebounding.

Maybe. Just maybe.. Mike D'Antoni knows what he's doing? lol

Let's just go ahead and ignore one side of the ball.

It's ironic that Williams and Johnson have been getting playing time from MDA because of defense, in spite of their offense.

Wes has been playind solid D, hustling, using his athleticism to alter and be a defensive pest... But i feel like he settles too much on catch and shoot threes that have not been falling and messes with offensive chemistry.

First couple of games he was settling for long jumpers, but last couple of games you see more slashing.

Yup. I especially like him in the pick and roll situations. Great potential there because of his athleticism and that long step.

Yes his D has been solid despite being under sized, I don't know, his offense has been pretty bad, you almost want to play Hill some of his minutes at PF even though he's a better 5 than 4.

I have been real happy and surprised with his game so far. I feel like this is the "year of the steals" for the Lakers. Henry, Wes, Williams, Young, Farmar, etc are all great signings.

And they are all basically trying out for a roll on our second string next year. Let's face it, we have only 2 "Starter Quality" players on this team. Kobe and Pau. Every one else is second string or lower. Even Nash at this point in his career. But, we have some really solid second string players. If we can pick up a couple starters in free agency this summer and sign the top 5 guys from our "second stringers" this year, we could have a very deep team next year.

My choices for making the second string next year are: W Johnson, J Hill, J Farmar, X Henry and young. (I am assuming you can not sign them all, so Kaman, Williams, Harris walk. Blake is let go. Kaman will probably go for the $ elsewhere. Kelly may be kept for cheap.)

Just some thoughts.
