Lebron at the 4 spot tops him. I'd consider Hibbert over him.

But when you factor upside... He's got everyone but Lebron.

So far this season? I have him at #1. He's extremely hot though, so I won't be surprised to see his stats taper off towards the end of the year into the 19/11/2blks range. Still a great year, and not bad for a soon-to-be 21 year old.

The block on Pau at 4:24. How many times does a right hander block with his left hand in the post?

Also, at 2:48...such quick recovery on on the block after gambling for the steal. How many other players can do that?

Not to mention about 3 plays where he blocked shots and was the first down the floor to score.

We taking in all 4s & 5s...no way I can put him at 1 at that point when Love has been beastin. Still above very notable people this year such as Lee, the Gasols, Brook Lopez and even Dirk.

In what category? I can see if you want to give passing and back to the basket to Pau, or shooting to Dirk, etc. But the intensity and the effort Davis plays with makes him more impactful than those guys. He is like a spring board. They talk about how active players will give you two jumps to go for a rebound, I saw this guy giving 4 or 5 jumps on rebounds last night. He runs the floor faster than ALL of them, not even close (unless I am forgetting someone). He doesn't have all the skills of the players you mentioned, but when you factor in the age of Dirk, Pau, and Davis, I feel on any given night I would expect Davis to have the larger impact.

He's top 3 right now, the guy dominated Gasol all night last night, Pau is not in the same league as AD at the moment. AD is leading the league in PER with 31.17 beating out Love who is not too shabby himself with a PER of 31.09. Those are the two best big men in the league by far. But its only 6 games into the season so things could change since they both have a history of being injury prone.

Love isn't even close to being as good as Davis. They're polar opposites on the defensive end.

Whoah, Kevin Love is beasting. 27.2 points 14.7 rebounds, 34.2 EFF(<--best in the NBA, Davis 2nd in NBA with 31). And we see him tomorrow. Lets bring those babies down!

Howard, Davis, Duncan - 3 best legit big men in the league. Until Howard starts to make his FT's or improve his O game, Duncan/Davis are more reliable for the playoffs.

After that - Horford, Marc Gasol and Hibbert should get some love.

And BTW, what I like about all the above mentioned players - unlike a Blake Griffen or Kevin Love who are really good on O, they're all defensive presences.

Chris Bosh is also an elite player for Miami, only because of their system is he a defensive presence. If he played on most other teams, his D would be similar to that of Love/Griffen. Meaning his value would be on O, not D as well.

Really disagree there on bosh, wolfpac.

Bosh is the best bigman pick and roll defender in the league. On miami or on any other team.

He is not a good one on one defender, but he is not in miami either. But that doens't matter because there are only 4-5 low post centers in the entire league (pek, bynum, hibbert, ? maybe b.lopez?).

But his pick and roll defense is incredible. Elite. And it carries over to any team he goes to.

Also, it's a little early to say davis is more reliable for the playoffs when he hasn't been in them yet.

I know Bosh is a great PnR defender but because they have so much team speed and Lebron (Who can actually rotate and anchor a D from behind Bosh) they don't need Bosh to be a post defender.

In most other scenarios, Bosh is asked to be a post defender and you see him exposed on that side. He can't defend 1 on 1, nor is he able to really cover up for perimeter weaknesses.

Think about this - if Bosh had to defend inside with Fisher guarding PG's (Not Chalmers/Wade or LBJ) would they win a title? Never. The fact that Bosh has that athletic, defensive talent around him, allows them to be able to get away with it.

On Davis - I said that based on what he shows skills wise. He doesn't have much of a post game and needs a lot of shots to get his points. But he can score. It's not easy to take him out of a game. With Dwight you can simply take him out of a game by fouling and sending him to the FT line. Once he starts clanking, he's done.

Six games in, he's battling Love for the number 1 spot.

AD: 31.3 PER; 120 ORtg, 93 DRtg; Win/48 .305; .578 ASPM; 6.40 VORP
KL: 31.0 PER; 122 ORtg, 97 DRtg; Win/48 .327; .601 ASPM; 6.29 VORP

I also really do like Love but his defense just irks me. He's a beast for fantasy basketball though! I got Love number 2 fwiw. Hope he stays healthy.
