Dude is done. Stick a fork in him. That collision with Damian Lillard was the beginning of the end of Steve Nash.

I wonder if Kobe will try to rush back, because of this news... we all know this isn't a 2 week timetable it's more like 2 months.... I don't think Kobe wants to see this season go down-hill....

kobe can only lead us so far...the team is playing like garbage now. nick young isn't an efficient scorer at all. Wesley Johnson is a bench player. pau is trash. the whole team's gotta step up their game, if they even got a game.

The guy had the whole summer to rest, and not even 10 games into the season he is already hurt, there is just no way he can last the season, just do the honorable thing and retire for medical reasons, he would still get paid and the Lakers get more flexibility.

On top that he sits out back to backs. No pun intended and he's still hurt. Was struggling in the pre season too.

I gotta believe that the Lakers will try to use Meeks (good trade value) or Hill to get us some sort of decent starting PG...

What many of us feared coming to this season is already happening. Nash and Gasol seem done and so is the Lakers season

(unless mitch does some magic but it doesnt seem likely due to next year cap space and all)

maybe the knicks will get desperate and trade us Carmelo for pau and filler. but we're not gonna make it far with mike d'antoni as our coach. we need to do a coach for coach trade with the knicks too.

Nash won't be back in two weeks. It's gonna be at least a month imo, if he even does return.

We all know it, but he needs to accept he's done and retire.

He's done and needs to admit it. No shame in it.

I'm sure the Lakers will happily buyout his deal if he's worried about the money.

I think he may be getting there.

BTW, there is plenty of honor in fighting and clawing and working to tryb and get back and play.

Agreed.

I do sincerely hope he is able to return in a month or two.

If it doesn't work out, he may end up finally giving in.

But I won't fault him for trying. The guy is a competitor.

Just retire Nash. You're a great guy and all but it's time to hang it up. You would help the Lakers more that way too. XD

You don't retire from the game.

The game retires you.

If he retires, hopefully he leaves behind his heart for Pau to borrow.

No more Steves only backcourts. Sad to say this but we are better off. We just got faster better defensively and younger.

He's done. Can't help but feel sorry for him, he came here hoping to finally get a ring in his 17 year career, but man did the team fall short. All he wants to do is contribute but his body is giving up on him. I admire his will to try and come back and be a contributor to the team, but at some point he has to ask himself is it worth putting his body at risk for a season/s that most likely won't result in a ring? Time to hang them up Steve, take care of your body before any more damage is done to it.

Have to start farmar. Need someone who can at break down defences a little bit. Maybe just start the bench and bench the starters

Forget it lol.

It is not possibly viable to be playing a 40 y/o PG limited minutes, no b2bs, under constant injury watch, and expect him to make noise in the season.

He needs to save his body. Shaq thought he could keep plugging things up with all kinds of shots to save his season but he eventually just faced the music.

I'm happy to be able to watch him close out his career with us but he needs to take a long look at himself in the mirror here.

I predicted from day 1 that Nash will retire during the season --- it's best. I'd like to see him as a coach ....

Farmar/Blake
Kobe/Swaggy
Henry/Wes
Hill
Pau/Kaman

This lineup needs to happen. 9 DEEP. To save the Lakers from 9th seed. The worst seed Lakers can get.

This is very much a chronic condition. Nash may be back in two or three weeks, play some, but it is only a question of time until he goes down with the same diagnosis again.

If he were younger and took some two months off to strengthen his core, he could manage to reduce the risk of this to happen again, but even then it would need constant management, care and special preparation.

Nash may come back and play some, but this injury will limit him severely for whatever is left of his career.

The Knicks are not doing that in fact they are not doing neither.

hel make a couple of futile attempts to play this year and Pau will go from one excuse to another while Kobe tries his best when he returns to barely make the playoffs. will be like last yer only without the many bricked Howard free throws
