I've been on the fence on not watching Lakers games until he returns. Love rooting for the Lakers, but it's tough right now. It's bad, and don't tell me not watching the game has not crossed your mind, because I know people here probably turn the TV sets, or their computer off after the 1st quarter of bad play.

Edit...tough spot again...hard to watch this team and it's not just kobe's injury...everyone is injured!

I watch every laker game even though it's 2.30 am here and even when there's thunder or loud windmills.

Will be extatic when kobe returns, tho!

Think of all that time I wasted in the 70's, 80's and 90's watching Lakers games before Kobe was on the team.

That's pretty much me at the moment.

I watch for marquee Laker talent. It's the only thing I enjoy watching Laker games for at this point.

I doubt most of the "true fans" have been watching this team or the league as long as I have.

Yeah, all those championships and parades were just so blasé.

Whats a fake fan? Are they like, cardboard cut outs that root for the team?

i hate the "true fan" concept. I'm a fan. But I watch less when it's difficult to watch. Why should my level of masochism reflect my fanhood?

It's not even that bad right now..other fans of teams have had it much worse for much longer.
What if Kobe retires and we end up in the lottery for 2 years? Are you going to not watch the Lakers at all?

I watch the Lakers because they're my team, and I want to keep an eye on how they're doing by watching every game. I like watching Lakers basketball, so even if they lose, I'd rather watch the game myself than check the box scores..

You just watched those in anticipation of Kobe, admit it

It's hard for me to completely ignore the team when a game is going on. I feel like I watch because it's a habit, and I'm too curious about the result to ignore the game completely. Plus with Kobe eventually coming back there is still hope.

No. That's just called "having a gambling addiction."
