That last line that (he) delivered was clever.
I also recommend the 3D, there were tons I mean tons of 3D shots of Ant-Man flying through anything and everything. _________________ The butter is getting hard. |

I think these Marvel movies are a license to print money.
Just wondering which movie will be their first true flop. Was thinking this
One would be it. Probably not though.

Saw it tonight.
Had to get 3D tickets because the regular one was sold out, but I'm glad I did. I think it should be seen in 3D, action sequences was very well done.
Enjoyed it. Nice change of pace from Avengers. _________________

Saw it last night with my son.
We thought it was better than Avengers 2. Maybe because it's a totally new concept but still Ant Man kicked ass.
Had my doubts if Paul Rudd was gonna be able to pull it off being a Super hero at first. After watching it those doubts were false.
I always thought Paul Rudd as a Streisand but he's totally rocking the S--t in this one! Lololol

Spoiler-ish question:

Doubtful. |
What's our over under for success? $250 million domestic gross? |
Domestic? You're kidding.
Marvel just needs $250 million to turn a profit. If this does just $150 million domestic (2.5 multiplier) in it's entire run, it will successfully do about $320-350 million worldwide something close to Captain America TFA's box office. |
$500M global gross would be successful. I saw the production budget was $130M then add about $50M for marketing cost you basically have a $200M picture.
That's why I don't really count foreign gross because there's shared receipts and different methodology to the box office number. |

FYI - Marvel is owned by Disney... Disney under Bob Iger has been genius in their acquisitions.
Pixar, then Marvel, and Lucas Films |

Reviews have not been great for the movie. Is it really worth it or should I wait for HBO? |

Paying my Marvel taxes tomorrow with the kiddos (thats TWICE this summer) Looking at showtimes, it doesn't seem to have a whole lot of showings for an opening weekend film.
I remember for Jurassic World there was a showing every half hour at some places... there are only 5 - 7 showings for ANT-MAN at the same theater tomorrow. I guess the demand just isn't there. Maybe positive word of mouth will help boost things for the flick. _________________ "Dread it, run from it... destiny arrives all the same." |

Minions was just okay. The first half of the movie is really really really slow.
It felt like watching a documentary. |

Saw this last night. I thought it was a good entertaining comic movie. Id rate as good as Captain American 1. I'd give it a 7.25/10. There's some good humor in it from Paul Rudd and Michael Pena and Michael Douglas does an excellent job as Hank Pymm. Also just being able to see Evangeline Lilly's beautiful face for most of the movie made it worth the price of admission. The action was well done going from normal size to ant man size without a hitch in editing and flow of the fight scenes. This character would is a good addition to the Marvel movie universe. |

I thought it was good. On the same level as Thor 1/2, Avengers 2 and Captain America 1. Not as good as Iron Man 1, Captain America 2 or Avengers 1. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service

Best word to describe this movie is "Silly" but I enjoyed it. Had me laughing pretty good at times.
Marvel movies don't really do it for me. But some honorable mentions for me are:
Iron Man
Guardians of the Galaxy
Thor 2 (1st half)
Avengers may be up there too... depending on my mood.
The rest just are alright. |

I agree with Jordan-esque this movie, more than any previous Marvel film, was really made to be enjoyed in 3D. Maybe I've seen so many 3D movies now or the digital FX have gotten so much better I don't have any problems with 3D. It's getting more difficult to find showtimes in non-3D for blockbuster movies anyway.
I enjoyed it. Paul Rudd exceeded my expectations and Ant-Man had a great supporting cast: Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Pena, and Corey Stoll were all good. I was reading a lot of complaints about the Scott Lang version of Ant-Man as opposed to the original Hank Pym version but the movie's explanation was adequate and addressed the question of the Wasp.
Here's my current rankings:
- Iron Man/Captain America: Winter Soldier (tie)
- Guardians of the Galaxy
- Thor
- Avengers: Age of Ultron
- Captain America: First Avenger
- Ant-Man
- Avengers
- Iron Man 2
- The Incredible Hulk
- Iron Man 3
- Thor: Dark World

My sentiments exactly. I wanna watch it again too because I was super tired when I watched. I enjoyed it a lot though |

Maybe it's because I rarely laugh out loud in a theater combined with the fact that when Rudd was initially casted as the title role my expectations were so terribly low ... but I found this movie to be so much fun and entertaining.
I like that he's just a regular dude and can see how he'll fit in with the rest of the personalities of the Avengers. On a side note: anyone else find Falcon a little bland and boring?
But it was a film that surprised me. In fact, as a Marvel stand alone, it makes my Top 3. IM and the first Cap being the other two. _________________ We back. |

I think it was the worst Marvel Studios movie so far. Rudd is just lifeless as usual, and the movie doesn't have any edge or real laughs (Micheal Pena would be the closest thing). It's not terrible, just very small (no pun) and limp compared to other Marvel movies.
Iron Man
GoTG
Winter Soldier
Avengers 1 + 2
Cap 1
Thor 2
Thor 1
Incredible Hulk
Iron Man 3
Iron Man 2
Ant-man |

Finally saw Ant-Man, I really liked it!
Liked it better than both Cap and Thor's solo films.
1) Iron Man
2) GOTG
3) Ant-Man
4) Captain America
5) Thor
I thought the post credit scene tying into Civil War was interesting. Can't believe some people still leave during the credit and haven't learned to stay for the mid and post credits. _________________ |

Most people left during the credits too. Gotta stay for the end of the credits with EVERY Marvel movie. |
