No I don't see that happening.
Not athletic enough, too slow, no defense, no shoot (yeah I know, he knocked a few 3-pts... but won't last), don't drive to the rim, don't get fouled.
He can find his place in the NBA with improvement, but becoming a top 5, I just can't see it happening.

Marshall can dish the dimes, but his lack of shooting might cost him his roster spot next season.

He tried out a floater today. He missed it by about four feet, but at least he tried.

Give Marshall a summer and see what he learns by the next season. So far I see raw potential.
But he has the court vision which is the hardest thing (well, impossible really) to teach. Shooting can be learned and D needs a system (read: new coach) and team commitment. The latter can be contagious.

I want the Lakers to try the market with him before.
Against a 2nd round pick for example. Maybe a team values him crazy, you never know.

He should spend more in the D-League, he should be thankful the Lakers gave him the opportunity to succeed, but there is no way we should invest in him long-term.... he's not one of those guys that you can expect to bring it in the playoffs...... get a 2nd rounder for him and call it a day.

We need another first round or early 2nd round pick to maybe get another impact player.

Is it possible to exercise the option on Kendall Marshall and trade him on draft day for a possible late first or early 2nd rounder?

A team would be crazy to do that.
Maybe one is though.
If you can get a mid-2nd or late-2nd for him, it's already good I think

He's got raw potential, but he needs a lot of work.

I'm not that worried about his shooting. I think it will improve.

He's got to put more hustle out there though.

If he could just get to the point where he's a solid bench player, then I consider that a success for him.

Kendall isn't the worst PG. At the minimum, he's worth another year.

Forgot we even had this guy, whatever happened to him? Decent season with us, shot 40% from deep averaging 8/8 with a really bad team. We should have at least traded him for a future first when we had the chance. Can't believe we haven't had a good season since 2012-2013, if only Kobe never tore that Achilles...

Currently playing in the D-League.
He torn his ACL after leaving the Lakers and never had the opportunity again. All his career-highs are from the time when he played for us.

Thanks to MDA. I think D-League is his level. Was with Philly last year.

I wonder what type of numbers D'angelo would be putting up under Mike D'antoni.
20/10?

I hate to say this but the Lakers' problem is not scoring points it's playing defense. Defense and MDA do not go well in the same sentence.

Kendall Marshall would be a fantastic backup 1 in this offense with our bench.

Don't forget, he was 2nd in the NBA in assists in his time here, and as a backup would be solid.

Milwaukee had no clue how to use him and when he got hurt, they threw him to the wayside, and then Philly never played him.

As a backup 1 I'd love to have him back tbh.

He'd be no worse than Calderon or Huertas, I guess.
