Trade Pau, shut down Farmar with the bad hammy, let Kobe take the year off. I think we can move up to 7 or so, and who knows, one bounce of the ping pong ball and we're in business.

Heck if we are lucky we're in business at 9. This draft is crazy; might find a star anywhere in the top 10.

And encourage Nash to take a medical retirement.

9th pick in the Lottery.

My thoughts are: it may get worse, losing at home to the team with the worst record in the NBA is pathetic...

Why trade Pau? He's our tank commander.

You forgot about trading Jordan Hill, though with only 12 minutes tonight and MDA still the coach, that might not be necessary.

No, it is relevant enough to be in here

I'm actually allowing myself to imagine Wiggins in purple and gold. It's a win/win situation for me. We win and make the playoffs, that's good. We suck and get a lotto pick, that's good also. Why are people sweatin' it?

I said it before and I'm going to say it again. On my analysis on MOV and SRS, the Lakers on pace to end up with a 24-58 record which give them 3rd worst record in the league and would guarantee a 4th seat with 3rd highest selection for top pick. Now on a WARP projection which include the whole team, Kobe and Nash's RAPM statistics included together, the Lakers will end with a 34-48 record which only place them at 10th in the lottery. So it's in the Lakers interest to have Kobe sits out for the remaining of the season games and Nash retires or sits out too.

Actually, the 3rd worst record does not guarantee a 4th pick. It guarantees a 6th pick (since all 3 top slots could go to lower seeds and then worst team would get the 4th pick, 2nd worst the 5th, and 3rd worst the 6th). Highly unlikely but that is the bottom line.

We're 2 games away in the loss column from being the third pick. Brooklyn has 21 Losses. We have 19.

I'm making an assumption of the 1st and 2nd worse will end with a top 3 pick and one of the "lucky"team will win which push the Lakers to 4th. But you are correct, the worse case scenario will be 6th although I believe it's unlikely a 1st/2nd worse team will fail to win the top 3.

In this year's draft, top 5 guys can be legit franchise player, it's that deep.
