I like Randle but I am still hoping for a miracle where Exum's agent Rob Pelinka threatens Utah that his client will stay in Australia if not traded to the Lakers. Exum for Randle.
Randle will be a better pro than Exum.
Exum would be better if he was with the Lakers.
funny thing is, it appears we know as much about Exum as Utah does, neither one of us has seen him in person...
I think the Lakers know more about him than Utah. He has been living in LA for the past several months and his agent Rob Pelinka is Kobe's agent. I think the Lakers would have taken him if he fell to 7. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.

It's gonna be interesting to see what kind of expectations Mitch/Lakers set for Randle in his rookie season, they might try to push him slow, I think depending on what other moves the Lakers make...

Agreed LA was the perfect place for him to develop.
Utah has never developed a player like Exum. Sucks he went there. His ceiling is higher than Randle's IMO with him learning under Kobe

If you have ever seen his tweets you'll know that the guy is a complete moron. He also just says stuff to instigate his followers; for example he openly cheers against the US soccer team on twitter. He's the definition of a troll.
I could tell. That's why I'm happy I just successfully trolled him on Twitter. I think he's still licking his wounds:
Amin Elhassan @AminESPN 37m
#hatehard RT @gainsense: @AminESPN I saw that smarmy grin u gave the camera after your anti- AT J30_RANDLE comments. Such trolls hired by ESPN!

@AminESPN @J30_RANDLE Whoa let's be clear, I used "you" not "u," make sure to use brackets next time!
Amin Elhassan @AminESPN 29m
@gainsense @J30_RANDLE Nick the whole point of abbreviating is because there weren't enough characters! Add brackets = same chars as "you"

I was on the Exum bandwagon too until I watched tapes of him being guarded by a much shorter Marcus Smart. Smart owned him and completely took him out of the game. Now Smart is an above avg PG defender but he intimidated the hell out of Exum. Dante has great physical tools and may just need nba seasoning but he sure looked like deer in headlights in the U19 USA game. _________________ Alltime lineup: Magic | Kobe | MJ | Hakeem | KAJ

HOW does Utah end up sitting there ON THE CLOCK trying to figure out whether to draft Exum or Smart when they never worked out either guy? That's just... total incompetence... maybe Jerry Sloan is the greatest coach of all time if this is what he had to deal with all those years? What did they do when they drafted Malone and Stockton? Flip a coin between them and some other guy? LOL!
Didn't both guys refuse to work out for the Jazz? What would you have done if you were Utah in that situation?

See my sig
Hahaha I'm still rolling with you and PnP Chronicle. Exum will be a Laker one day. It's why I haven't changed my avi yet
2021.
Is training under Kobe the same thing as getting trained by King Kai in DBZ? Poor Exum if that's true. Utah is like being trained by Krillin.
It's the same thing as having your potential brought out by Old Kai. _________________ A banana is killed every time a terrible thread or post is made. Save the bananas. Stop creating terrible posts!
I agree that the Lakers need a dynamic playmaking guard to take some pressure and miles off of Kobe's last two years. I'm just glad they didn't try to draft one at #7. Of all the positions in the NBA, the point guard has the most responsibility (even if the guy playing point guard is a forward like LBJ) and the biggest adjustment making the jump from college to the pros. To think a 18-19 year old is going to come in and run an NBA offense like a veteran is pretty unrealistic. It makes a lot more sense to go after one in free agency that has actually proven himself in the NBA and has had a few years to work on improving his weaknesses (for a lot of incoming PGs, it's 3 point shooting). Drafting Randle and then targeting someone like Lowry, Bledsoe, Stephenson, or even Thomas in free agency is a much smarter move.
Some other thoughts:
- It was interesting that PHX drafted Ennis. Maybe they won't match a big offer for Bledsoe.
- Zach LaVine looked like someone told him his dog just got run over when MIN drafted him #13.
- I like Bill Simmons. He's a passionate fan of basketball and never claims to be impartial or a journalist. It would be like complaining about hot sauce being hot.
- Mitch mentioned in a post-draft interview that they may interview some more candidates. Maybe they are having second thoughts about Byron?
- It's impossible to say that the Lakers winning a few extra games cost them someone like Exum. Say the Lakers get the 5th worst record like Utah had. Maybe the Lakers move up in the lottery? Maybe they drop down? Maybe they stay at 5? Maybe Philly gets scared off by Embiid's injuries and goes with Exum at 3 in the draft? There's so many variables that you can't just change one and think all the others to be identical.
Ross gave Vonleh fits in Big 10 play. I'm a bit surprised he went undrafted.
Ross is good, but I liked Kane going into the draft. I figured his age would scare people away, but the guy can play. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.
