I think this is the first post I've actually started, but I haven't seen anything on this.

The last few games he's not played well and then I see tonight he was a DNP - Coaches Decision. Even though they called it "coaches decision" is he hurt or something? Anyone have any knowledge as to what's going on there?

We're going small ball.
Besides, Hill is not that good.

the lakers are going with players that have been more consistent than Hill is over the past few weeks.

Hill is good in short stretches in some games...if he plays too many minutes his effectiveness decreases drastically.

This just isn't true at all.

There is always a chance of injury with Hill.

Pretty much this. He's not a great scorer, he's not a great defender, he's only average or below average on defensive boards. He's an awesome offensive rebounder, but teams have scouted that and try to keep bodies on him at all times. He's got his niche role, but he's kind of spotty.

What's it matter if we're not bringing him back anyways?

We're going for a record 82 different starting line-ups in 82 games.

he's a center. cannot play pf, its been a useless thing. he's gone and was practically giddy when he was gonna be traded then he wasnt. after his hot start to the season he really faded, he just cant sustain his play and teams decided to put the work to box him out.

D'Antoni is playing the Sacre Kelly combination rather than the Hill Kaman combination. He likes the way Sacre sets screens, and the way Kelly spreads the floor compared to Kaman/Hill. Per Dave McMenemit

There's a chance for injury with every player especially a Laker at this point!

Yeah, we should hold Farmar out of games too!

Kelly hasn't spread any floor the last bunch of games. It's not like defenses are keying on his shot either.

What's going on with D'Antoni?
He is very inconsistent in his choices.
Hill will play 5 games, including 3 as a starter, while Kaman plays 0 minute. And suddenly, Hill is benched 4 games and Kaman becomes the #1 option offensively and plays 30 minutes.
And it's like that since the beginning of the season with quite a few players.

In terms of on-floor impact Hill is better than Sacre. But Sacre MIGHT have more upside down the road (hard to believe now, I know), which may be why MDA plays him more? I am not particularly fond of Hill as a player regardless.

Hill's replacements at the 4: Wes and Kelly actually stretch the floor.
