Glad to see him fail. Magazine covers, all this hype before he did squat in the league.

Right, one game and he is a failure.

I had some hope for the Bengals partway through the season, but that is gone.

The Colts are so lucky to play in a garbage division because they really aren't that good.

Or just lucky to have Andrew Luck. Because they're just a one-man team.

Funny Jimmy Clausen and Golden Tate will be reunited but on opposing teams.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/12/17/report-bears-bench-jay-cutler-start-jimmy-clausen/

Quote:
Bears bench Jay Cutler, start Jimmy Clausen

The Bears’ collapse has reached epic proportions, as Jay Cutler has lost his job as Chicago’s starting quarterback.

Cutler has been benched and Jimmy Clausen will start on Sunday against the Lions, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

For Cutler to get benched after playing just 14 games into the enormous contract he signed this offseason demonstrates just how big the mess in Chicago is. That contract may cost both Bears G.M. Phil Emery and Bears coach Marc Trestman their jobs.

And Cutler’s play has already cost him his job. Whether Cutler has any future in Chicago or anywhere else in the NFL remains to be seen, and the Bears owe Cutler a guaranteed salary of $15.5 million next season whether he’s on their team or not.

But at the present, Cutler is out, and Clausen is the Bears’ starting quarterback.

Yeah. Peyton Manning had 11 interceptions in his first 4 games and I believe, currently holds the NFL record for a rookie with 28 interceptions in his first season.

Not saying Manziel is going to be Peyton but, 1 game means absolutely nothing. It's all about how he responds going forward.

lol, if Cutler can't get the job done, Clausen's even worse. He makes Cutler look like prime Manning.

It'll be interesting to see.

Mike Silver (of NFL Network) said on Twitter that the Bears offensive players believe Clausen will light it up in Trestman's offense simply because he'll run the offense as prescribed.

How smart do the Broncos look trading Cutler?

They got Kyle Orton and two draft picks which were Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker.

It changed the NFL.

There would've been no Tebow Mania and Manning would've gone to a different team.

Clausen is horrible and he faces the Lions pass D. It's a stupid move by Trestman to try to save his job. Trestman better hope that his system can make up for Clausen's complete lack of talent.

Difference being that Manning lives with his playbook and Johnny football has to dig under two hoes and several lines of coke to find his. He has absolutely no chance to be a success as an NFL QB.

Well sure. You know that now about Manning.

Do you think they were tearing him apart back in 98, or applauding his 28 interceptions because he moved in with his playbook?

I'm a Johhny Football fan. I think he'll get it together. He was thrown into the Lions cage without a whip and chair.

Manning, Montana, Elway, Unitas and other greats had their sour beginnings. I look for Manziel to have a better outing next week with continued improvement.

He dug himself into a hole, now he has to dig himself out. I think he will.

My memory is a bit fuzzy but I remember a lot of people thinking the Colts were stupid to draft Manning over Leaf. And his rookie year wasn't that great so many weren't high on him but nobody thought he should've been benched.

Then again nobody really thought he was going to end up as great as he has (despite what revisionist history says)
